Looking to join team Omega

Hello gentlemen and ladies. I am not an omega owner as of yet but looking to dip my toes into my first piece.

Im looking at this Omega 311.33.42.30.01.002 box and papers with all three straps. I also will be picking up the Blue Snoopy in the near future I am waiting for prices to drop just a little lower on that one.

This is being offered to me at $4300 is this a good deal? I am not familiar with omega prices as there are so many models.

I can't comment on price but check on chrono24 for fairness. Compared to other Omegas, speedmaster professional holds its value fairly well and is easier to move should you decide to move on.

Having said that, I'd suggest looking at the bracelet variant and not the strap. Those are much better long term and even though speedie is a strapmonster its most elegant on its oem bracelet.

Good luck and welcome to Team Omega. Its incredible how this sub-section on a competitor's forum continues to flourish.

Well said.

I second the bracelet, especially the new one with the non tool micro adjust.

Ah, right.

The new bracelet won’t fit I assume? If it does it’s worth the upgrade

Omegas are known for their quality, so it could be a good investment. Have you checked out other Omegas before, or is this going to be your first one?

I'm gonna get flamed (deservedly) for saying this: choosing sapphire over Hesalite is a missed opportunity. Pass on that watch and choose one with a Hesalite crystal instead.

I think it is a fair price on a very nice watch. With so many secondary market sellers of great bracelets, Forstner for one, you can find one that will work. Price is OK, but I would offer less. Many on the market and it is a buyers market for these right now. I have the 1861 and two 3861's and enjoy playing the strap game with the 1861. Good luck and let us know what you decide.
