JLC Reverso
Anyone in here have a Reverso? I am considering a Reverso Tribute. Never even toyed with the idea of them but then when I got my Cartier Santos the AD also sells JLC. My jeweler showed the watch to me and I pretty much fell in love. Only thing I wish was different is if it came with a bracelet not just straps.

Reverso is a very classy and elegant watch. I think it's a timepiece watch enthusiasts should own at least once. Should be able to buy a reverso with a big discount in the secondary market

They are great, I have the burgundy version monoface. Had doubts between green and burgundy as there was no white version when I got it. Really cannot go wrong with any colour.
Kinda like Panerai but in a different segment they are also a strap 'monster' so to speak. Especially the stock straps as both the buckle and the strap have QR system so you need not carry any tools around, just a selection of straps. Those I have which are custom made fit the same description (QR). Edit: have about dozen straps for both Panerai and the Reverso. Makes sense as they are both coming from the same company. :) |

I have the burgundy and absolutely love it; I'm surprised at the number of compliments I get on it. It goes from this reserved burgundy color to a bright red in the sun.
I seriously debated about a duo, but when I asked duo owners they all said they had a favorite side and that was the one they wore 95% of the time and the second watch dial was more of a "party trick" to them. I elected mono because I loved the dial color and wanted a slimmer watch.

I have a Reverso Duo and it is a good representation of JLC.
I like the Duo and it makes the watch sort of like a clumsy GMT. The most important thing to think about before you buy the Reverso is the size. I have a 7 inch wrist and wear a medium (42mm in length). The large size Reverso (48mm+ in length) can look ridiculously big if you can't pull it off. A rectangular watch that is too big looks worse than one that is too small. My advice is to try before you buy.

I had one for a while. Beautiful watch. It definitely leans towards the dress watch category. I found I just didn’t wear it all that much. Sold it for a 50% loss.
You may love it. Buy a nice example used at 50% of MSRP. |

A Reverso is a strap monster; I simply could not imagine it on bracelet. I have the Burgundy Tribute and wore it a lot. That said, it pops a little too loud in my office environment, so I have been wearing my Chronograph more often (with the blue dial, much more subtle).

There are vintage ones available on a bracelet and extremely accessible prices.

Photo courtesy of GaryG. The Reverso is great.
And a bracelet is definitely an option. |

If one is okay with JLC’s absolutely insane price hikes these past few years, then it’s a nice watch.

They’re amazing watches. Unfortunately If you get sick of it, the resale loss is significant.
