2 not so common sports watches

Well both are very well known and very famous among collectors but in the wild you won't see these often.

Anyway, if you could pick one ... which one would you pick ?

And please don't take secondhand value as an important factor. Let's assume both have the same real value.

Blancpain every time. Patek does nothing for me.

His thick is the diver? Generally I like dive watches, but I think I’d go Patek in this case,

Since PP only has 30m waterproofness from the factory, so if it fogs up it may not be covered under warranty. So if you're really limiting yourself to these two, imho it has to be the Blancpain due to loving the ocean, pool, swimming, etc.

You owe it to yourself to go see the H. Moser Streamliner, word is it has a far better bracelet than many others. Plus it is far more rare, very rare indeed, so odds are far higher you won't be seeing others with it at GTG.

Look at the H. Moser movement and compare it to the others.

You, I and everybody who's into watches knows the Aquanaut is water resistant to 120 and probably 150-200 meters. Why Patek changed the info on their website is something I don't get.

The Moser has a nice movement but the case and bracelet are absolutely not my taste

At euro 28K the Patek is not a bargain, I agree
But euro 20.5 K for the Blancpain is imo very acceptable. Yes it is not cheap but it's really better made and much beter finished than all these Omega an Rolexes. So worth 2 times the price of a Submariner ? I believe so

Hmmm, perhaps someone should ask PP why they changed. Why lower the WP warranty rating if you're an established manufacturer? Even Richemont's Panerai brand keeps their WP rating. Were there a lot of PP warranty claims or ???

Sounds like the PP is for you then. i'd prefer the Blancpain. Curious why no AP or VC?

Blancpain. I have the 5015 and the curves of the case, the depth of the dial, and the reflections off of the sapphire bezel are amazing.

Two very different watches……

Which would I rather have on my wrist between these two? The Aquanaut.

Beyond which I prefer, I’m just not a huge FF fan. The case engraving on the side irritates me, and I find Blancpains to be overpriced. Just my opinion….

Am curious, does one bracelet use push pins and the other one have high-quality screws? Looks like the Blancpain uses screws, but am not 100% sure. Do both use high-end screws for bracelet adjustment?

Pins for the aquanaut
The blancpain has screws …. On both sides. Which is nice but a pain in the a$$ if you need to add or remove a link. You need 2 screwdrivers. One to hold a screw on the right side of the bracelet and one to unscrew the one on the left side of the bracelet

just based on design, the 5167 by a mile for me. The size, shape, design, thickness, strap, and how it wears are all a plus for me.

I have both (5167a on rubber and MilSpec FF), and my pick if I had to keep one would be the 5167a. More comfortable (although the FF is very comfortable too) and more versatile. You really can’t go wrong with either tho.

As big a PP fanboy as I am, I've never been particularly fond of either the Aquanaut or the Nautilus.
