Rolex is the 800# Gorilla in the room. He was just jealous.

Ignoring someone is 'fear or weakness'... have you been listening to Andrew Tate or other similarly toxic male influencers? That kind of statement reeks of bravado and insecurity.

Ignoring people is often the wisest and most appropriate choice. The moment you start to return fire you are basically giving them what they want and it can easily lead to an undignified situation for both people.

I had on my DJ 36 mm TT I've had for 15th years or longer. I told him I buy what I like....he kept on about real watch collectors bypass Rolex for higher end brands ....well maybe its true but I like Rolex and some Omega because they make ladies watches. I walk to the parking lot and he is parked about 3 cars from me....I'm in my 2021 Jeep GC....I could not help myself ....I told him "I see you fell for the Audi hype...." I don't want to ruffle Audi owners feathers but I would never buy one....my family comes from U.S. auto workers.....mostly MOPAR...dad retired after 32 years in 84.
He gives me a shocked look....I told him yeah I'm old but I would bet I'm a better car tinkerer than you...my dad taught me since I was 5..... he drove off without a word.
Back to the question why the Rolex hate? please excuse my spelling I'm using the phone.....my internet connection is still down and my old eyes cant see the small print well.

Dude, I don’t mean to be rude but comparing Audi to Jeep is like comparing Rolex to Longines!
Btw, why do you wear Rolex?
Oh, nm, I just realized, Rolex is made in USA!

She is not a dude and she didn't compare Audi to Jeep. Why do you care why anyone wears any brand of watches, Rolex or not?

A couple of colleagues have remarked that the don’t like ANY Rolex watches when we have been discussing what watches we have (both times I did not raise the topic). One owns a Tag, the other an Omega, neither model I personally would buy or wish to wear.

It would be so easy for me to respond in kind but I refrained from doing so. I’m happy to see the positive in just about any watch.

I’m not sure why people feel the need to do readily express their apparent dislike for Rolex.

The guy on YouTube that has a second hand or grey market shop in Miami called "Federico talks watches" has a short webcast around 10 mins weekly which I like the guy but he makes it very clear he does not like Rolex and takes jabs at them on his show...something's I agree with and some I don't.....
He says Rolex watches are too common, overpriced etc, and praises H Moser as his fav watch and wears some which is fine. I'm not too keen on the looks of them so I would never buy one. The looks of them just don't blow my skirt up,God forbid.
I think not liking Rolex because they are a common sight in Miami is a poor excuse....I see thousands of Toyota's on the road and if not for the discount I get from mopar I would be driving a 4 Runner or Highlander today not a Mopar made auto.
I know of a guy I worked with some years ago that went over 25 years with no service on his Datejust and it keeps on ticking away....and gains 4 seconds a day! I've owned several Rolex models and never one problem.
Are they overpriced ? sure everything today is....you can go just about anywhere in the world and everybody knows the name and reputation of them.
I get told they are old and boring, well so am I ......a perfect match.

I would have replied to him “nice watch” and left it as that.

If 60 percent of your family was employed by Chrysler since the 20's you would
be also. Its "sad" that lots of great US auto plants have shut down.....Olds,Pontiac, AMC ok maybe not AMC so much....Im not going to discuss world economics because this is a Rolex and watch forum.

Anyone that feels the need to (unsolicited) comment on someone else’s belongings, be it watches, clothes, property, etc. (unless it is a genuine compliment) is a self conscious twit.
