Rolex 16760 Fat Lady 1984 Authentication

Hey all,

First post here. I was wondering if anyone could chime in on the authentication of this piece. Seems too good to be true, no date, box papers, condition.

My attention went to the red back bezel at first, now I'm looking at the handset not matching patina to the lume on the dail.

Watch is available at vintageworn

What are your thoughts?

The model is a no date, perfect for the time of the clock, the hands and dials never age in the same way, there are collectors who prefer this type of defect in the dial, these models had problems with the face varnish. If the price is fine, considering that it doesn't have a box or papers, it wouldn't be a bad purchase. The case and the bracelet seem to be fine.

The date wheel also looks original, it would have to have the 6 and 9 open, but by the screen printing I would say that it is the original. The bezel has had a gradient of black instead of red, which is normal for the gradient to be red.

I'm not sure what you mean by "too good to be true," since most people will say that the dial is in poor condition. Anyway, the dial will be polarizing, so really this is a decision you need to make for yourself. Especially since you haven't even shared the asking price or shown photos that allow us to judge the case.

At an asking price of $25500 I don’t see how that’s too good to be true? But maybe I’m missing something

Not a chance it is a $25,000 "Fat Lady." Wishful thinking at its finest.

$16k b and p etc tops imho, even if dial appeals...I personally quite like it, but many won't come resale...

This Seller has always priced his stocks at a fat FAT premium... The price alone is enough to scare me into inquiring more into a watch
