Please recommend a Yellow Gold Dress watch
Greetings,
Im looking for Rolex and non-roles yellow gold dress watch options. Leaning towards a vintage tank Louis cartier but the size keeps throwing me off. I do like the tank must extra large (if only they made a YG, but this is a non YG contender). Bracelet could be a leather or metal strap. Please post pics if you can. thank you!! |

A Simple mechanism. No Chronograph, Second hand or Day, A Date window is permissible. A Slim Profile typically has a slimmer profile. This allows for an appropriate fit under a shirt cuff or other formal wear. Smaller Case Size 34mm to 38mm case size Leather Strap Can be textured or smooth. Precious Metals The dress watch is made of precious metals like white, yellow, and rose gold, and platinum but Not Steel or Titanium. I think IWC make excellent watches and nice looking dress watches

Remy Cools Tourbillon Atelier is platinum case but comes in yellow gold dial. It's very cool watch. 39mm.

How about this one, albeit in rose gold:

I agree with a Calatrava. Not the current chunky ones, but a thin manual wind like 5119.

I prefer the Rolex Date Just or if you can swing it a Day Date. Metal bracelet. If you go vintage you can get a DJ in YG. Classic and robust watch that you can go anywhere and do most anything in.

Dress watches are supposed to be small, simple & discreet on a leather strap, pretty much ruling out anything by Rolex except Cellini.
I would look for a vintage IWC or PP Calatrava, 34-37 mm.

The cartier Santos comes in different sizes, both yellow gold and rose gold models, strap or full gold bracelet. Check them all out. Rolex' new 1908 line is basically perfect for you. White or black dial in yellow gold. |

Breguet 5177. YG is available with 2 different guilloche dials or a white enamel dial.

My fave:
image0.jpeg The standard Traditionnelle is available directly from Vacheron. The Lange above is lovely, as is the L.U.C. XPS. |

I have a M Cartier Santos SS and am seriously considering a YG M Santos.
Its a stunning watch and so comfortable on the wrist. I have a YG DD40 and I LOVE it. If I could only have one all gold watch it would be the DD40 but luckily I can have two and the Santos will be the next one.

I don’t think you can go far wrong with a gold Cartier Tank or Santos.

I would get a Patek 5120J. Just hours and minutes and a 240 micro rotor movement for thinness. 35mm diameter. perfect for a dress watch.

I have a 5116G enamel dial but it is also available in rose gold. If you really want yellow gold then other caltravas are available but the VC shown previously with guilloche dial is killer!

vacheron patrimony, or any cartier tank. however, one could with any brand, not necessary to have high horology if infrequently worn. enamel dial breguets are also very nice

Cartier Santos and Lange 1 would be my choices for YG.
Rose gold, I would throw in one of the new Reverso tributes from last year (red, black, or silver dial).
