Torn about YG Daytona “Paul Newman” on bracelet vs strap

So I put my name down for a one on oysterflex but was just called about one on the bracelet instead. Not sure if I would hold out for the oysterflex or consider the bracelet one? The nice thing about the oysterflex is that it tones down the yellow gold and has a glide lock.

I'd wait. The bracelet is a beautiful watch but wait for what you really want. And the OF seems to hold its value a little better over its full metal sibling.

I debated this with the previous generation. I was looking for the YG case and bezel with the yellow dial + black sub dials. Came close to the full bracelet but it seemed to much on the wrist. Last year I came across a great example that DSW had in his case when I was in for a visit. Very pleased to have this in my collection. Really love the black leather strap. Definitely takes the edge off and makes it more versatile.

Get it, OP. I much prefer that specific PM Daytona on a bracelet. The OF version is a bit too dark for me and I generally like OF Daytonas too.

Have you tried on the bracelet version? You might love it in person. But can’t go wrong with either. They’re both stunning.

I much prefer the ceramic bezel that comes with the OF model. To me it gives the watch a better look, not the mention the OF strap.

The Glide lock is nice to have and the oyster flex is more versatile.

Agreed, especially for a YG watch. It all depends on the vibe you're after, though.

Full bracelet, add a strap. PM on rubber is silly.

Prefer OF on this one. But wish I had bracelet option with ceramic bezel.

Love 116 generation PN, but the 126 version lacks red chronograph hand and black subdial hands, so if I were you, I’d look for 116 version of PN as shown in post above or on OF like this.

Full bracelet is my choice, and then add a rubber strap to get the 75% of the same look. Best of both worlds.

Not a rhetorical question here. Why not get the bracelet and put on aftermarket rubber strap; even some can fit with the clasp I think. Is it because the oem oyster flex is that much better? Because of the price?

In my opinion the rubber strap could go out of fashion and the bracelet won’t. But even if it did you could still use a rubber strap, and aftermarket ones will only get better. I personally don’t like the older Daytonas on leather straps, and I would be regretful if I previously committed to that style

Not the OP, but here's my take on the two.

1) The full gold version comes with a gold bezel. The version with the OF comes with a ceramic bezel. Huge difference in my mind. Had a TT Daytona and the gold bezel is just a scratch magnet. I personally love the ceramic bezel on a Daytona.

2) When removing the bracelet from a full gold version you lose the end links. Adding a strap without the end links just doesn't look that good in my opinion. Yes, you can get an Everest or Rubber B strap that circumvents the end links, but again, just doesn't look as good in my opinion.

3) The OF bracelet itself is just awesome and comes with a glidelock clasp. The full gold bracelet does not.

For me, a Daytona on an OF is a perfect match. In my opinion, it looks so much better than the full bracelet version. But that's just my take on it. YMMV.

I would choose the bracelet version without any doubt, full PM is just on another level. But you should choose the one you really want, not the one that is readily available.

I owned both of these at the same time in the 116 models. The OF left but the full bracelet is a forever watch

Are the feelings the same for the Pikachu? I have the OF and have had the same thoughts about the bracelet version.

I feel the Pikachu and Ghost look better on OF than full bracelet.

I can't believe I just used both nicknames in one post....

Full bracelet always unless you have one already and want a casual weekend beach watch, then get the OF

I think the sportier nature of the dial goes better with the ceramic bezel and OF.
