Habring2?
I’m thinking of ordering either the split second model or the one with the flying seconds.
Would make a few small dial tweaks. My questions are: 1. For those who have owned them, how was the dial quality? The finishing is pretty lackluster but I feel like that’s ok given the dials look pretty good and the complications are very cool at the price point. 2. If you sold yours, why? 3. How long was the wait if you customized your watch? 4. Please post your watch! |

I've had 2. Sold both. I had a white dial Foudroyante-Felix direct from Habring and an Erwin Scientific v3 from Martin Pulli. Both 38.5mm case. I loved the Foudroyante, but the white dial was a little too plain for my liking and I got bored, even though the flying seconds was very entertaining. I liked the Erwin Scientific, but grew tired of the salmon/copper color with vertical brushing. A little too industrial perhaps. That led me to my 3rd pre-order, the Chrono-Felix with textured salmon dial. I ordered from Horology by the Sea with a Breguet seconds hand, but the Habrings ultimately rejected the Breguet seconds hand because it is being reserved for their perpetual. Once I found out this request was rejected, I canceled my order. I felt that the Breguet seconds hand really made the watch, so this was a little disappointing.
My understanding is that there a set number of choices you can make when ordering a watch. Any special customizations beyond the offered choices require an order of 10+ watches for the Habrings to consider. I will likely buy another Habring at some point, but nothing in their current catalog of allowable customizations is really calling to me. Edit: The finishing is very good for the price point. Nothing fancy, but well executed. Dials are well done with zero flaws, just very simple dials. The wait from the Habrings is 6-9 months at this time. |

Turns out they no longer do custom work unfortunately. Kills the point for me.
