Advice for Rolex GMT

Hi members & experts,
would like to seek your advice & opinion.

Currently I am waiting for Rolex Pepsi GMT 126710 (blue & red)
but my AD tell me its difficult and offer me the new black GMT instead. (or batman blue and black)

I like all three colors although pepsi is my favourite.

Just wonder what will you all choose in this kind of situation.

Many thanks in advance

cheers

Don’t buy anything you don’t like. But if you do, might as well get the one that has higher market value so you can trade it for a Pepsi, and that would be the Batman

We all have our favourites and all I would say is buy what you like and not what someone wants you to buy

I have both BLNR and BLRO, both of them are equally gorgeous to me.

You should buy only the one that you really love to wear on your wrist.

If you want it, buy it. No way to know if it’ll go up or down in price.

I was basically told the same thing. I could get the BLNR in about a year, but the BLRO would take longer. Since I prefer the BLNR anyway, that wasn’t a problem for me.

I've been in this situation. I had been asking my AD to put me on the list since launch. In June 2020 I asked again and was offered a BLNR from the vault. I thought it was much better in person than photos suggest. A superb watch and the blue really pops. I thanked the SA, handed it back, and went on the list for my BLRO which I got 15 months later. It was a kind offer but it was not what I wanted. By the time I was walking to the door they had made a phone call and had a new owner on the way in to collect the BLNR. An all round win.

What I did or would do in this situation is not an indicator of what you should do, but I'm happy to share. If I have the money put aside, I know what I want and I'm on course to get it, I don't change course. YMMV.

Wait for the one you want. Otherwise, you buy this one offered to you, and in the back of your mind, the itch of the BLRO is still there.

Wait however long for your preference, go grey and have it within a day or two, settle for a different gmt. That’s unfortunately/fortunately your choices. I’m not patient so I’d contemplate the BLNR as I like it almost as much as the BLRO. But…my choice would most likely be to somehow/someway go gray for a new BLRO. If it means saving a little longer, so what, you’re waiting anyway, and maybe it comes in while you’re saving/waiting.

If you are willing and can go Gray for the BLRO if that is the one. If not, I would go for the BLNR on Jubilee. If you do not mind selling the BLNR then take it new and trade it to a secondary dealer who has a BLRO and add some cash and get the watch you really want. I do not know the market you are in but the wait on a BLRO could be long or not at all. Remember, One on the wrist, is worth ten on the list.

Buy the one you love and will wear, forget all the "trading up" BS. You may find by the time you "trade" it, all the dealers have beat you up so much you don't get close to it being worth the hassle.
