Looking for a yellow gold Rolex...
Greetings,
I dont know what to do... I want a gold Rolex... but not sure if day date is the move. Plus it's a good amount of $$$ I currently have all 40mm and above watches. A 36mm doesnt look bad on me. Maybe just a day date on a leather strap? Was also thinking of a Cellini, perhaps a danaos... Loving the look of a croc strap with yellow gold. any suggestions? thank you, |

18238 is my choice all day. Exceptional value in the market, and easy to live with the double-quick

From Rolex you might want to consider a PM watch with a bracelet. I believe Rolex has some of the nicest in the industry. A classic DD always works.

For a slightly different take, I do enjoy my 1601/8 and 1013 watches. Gold but subtle.

I’m a full-bore, dedicated fan of the 36mm 4- and 5-digit DDs.
DDs can look superb on a strap - I wear my Wide Boy 1803/8 and wood dial 18038 on brown straps. However, if you anticipate ever wanting a President bracelet for a DD, you’re usually better off waiting to get them together than assembling them later. There are also some real bargains out there among the vintage/neo-vintage Cellinis. (Similarly, the 1970s-80s stone dial Piagets are an interesting value.) If/when you narrow it down, post some sharp, clear pics of your candidates, so the “pros from Dover” here at TRF can scrutinize them for you. There’s a bottomless rabbit hole of details which can be important for these, and the members here are unbelievably generous with their time, skill, and resources. |

If not a DayDate or 18k GMT, the 18k Cellini Prince is nice looking for ~10k USD.

A gold bracelet adds a lot, though
