Hi guys,

I own the 5236P blue dial. It is a great watch and love it so much. However, when the salmon dial was released, I started to think about buying it. If I do, then I will probably sell the blue dial or just keep it. I am curious to see which color dial is preferred more. Please vote and share your opinion.

I have the blue and saw the salmon in person and it didn't do it for me. But it's all personal preference.

I love the blue one and nearly purchased it. I've never seen the Salmon version in the metal. But I've seen the 5320G, 5172G Salmon. I'm not a fan of the Salmon dial with darkened elements combination (I didn't like the 5270P Salmon and 5450P for that reason, that's very personal), that's why I rank blue over Salmon.

Both are great, but to my eyes, the blue is more elegant and the salmon looks more casual.

Salmon being a bit overplayed by Patek now IMHO. It used to be reserved for special pieces. Lost a bit of it’s allure to me. Keep your blue as it looks perfect for that dial.

That's a tough one, both are beautiful, but for me, the salmon dial is unique, so that was my vote.

The Moonphase also stands out so much nicer than the blue dial as well in my opinion.

I like both and if you love them both no need to hold back - buy the salmon one also. That being said I'd rather buy something else for 100k or more

Exactly. I remember when salmon dials were rare and produced in very limited quantities. Currently there are three models produced in salmon dial and they are not that hard to acquire.

Agree. Introducing salmon dials left and right feels like trying too hard. A decade ago salmon dials were still reserved for very special off-catalogue watches such as 3940G salmon. Now we have 5172G, 5320G, 5236P, 5935A, and the discontinued 5270P all in some sort of salmon.

I tried the salmon dial on and i think that in this case i would prefer the blue version… but if you can swing it to add the salmon dial more power to you

I could have written this post verbatim. I purchased the blue one week before the salmon announcement. I, as you, have struggled with the same thoughts.

My additional thoughts is that I have two other watches with blue on the dial and also a 4 and 6 digit Pepsis. I don’t have anything that is close to the Salmon dial.

I absolutely love the watch for many reasons. I have not seen the Salmon in person. I enjoy the different opinions.

Interesting view so different from mine.

I bought the 5320 in ivory/cream and much prefer it to the salmon which, as commented above, seemed to me to be PP trying to increase sales by changing the colour to what they thought might make it more fashionable and less conventional.

Whatever the colour the 5320 is one of PP’s best watches.

I was offered the Salmon dial and although it’s beautiful, I just didn’t feel it be as versatile. Having said that if my wife wasn’t with me to give her opinion (she wasn’t crazy about it) I would have probably bought it. In the end, no regrets passing…
