126234 vs 116234

Any thoughts? I like the hidden clasp on the 116 a lot. But the case seems sleeker on the 126234. Upgraded PR is nice too.

I have the 126234, it's a lovely watch and wears really well. I believe (could be wrong) that the 116234 may wear a little bigger and the hidden clasp is really nice (if you can get the perfect fit). I wouldn't worry about the PR as the 3135 movement is bulletproof. you can now pick up DJs from ADs pretty easy and I note that the second hand prices are still too high, for that reason I would go with the 126234 as its the best price option.

Gotta go with the 126234. The case is superior, allowing for the dial to be prominent while still maintaining a sleek, continuous shape. The Chromalite makes for better luminescent material and the improved power reserve helps with the timekeeping.

Case 116234: A little bulkier, less sleek. It's far from a maxi (GMT, Sub) case, but it's kind of a maxi-DJ-36-case.
Case 126234: Sleeker, more elegant, delicate, dressy and more reminiscent of the 5-digit DJ-case.

Bracelet 116234: The hidden clasp is nice, but for optimal comfort, you have to wear the bracelet (just a little bit) loose.
Bracelet 126234: It has a clasp, but it's not that big and the 5mm EasyLink is very handy. The polished center will show swirls and hairline scratches fairly easy.

Feel 116234: 'Sturdy', but very comfortable.
Feel 126234: More delicate, but also very comfortable.

Dial 116234: The dial feels a little smaller because there's a bit more going on (minute railroad track) and because the case is a little more beefy. There are - so far - more dials to choose from (tuxedo dial , for example) and some date wheels have a 'roulette' color scheme.
Dial 126234: Feels more open due to the lack of a railroad track and a sleeker case. Less options, unless you don't mind diamonds or MOP.

Movement: Personally, having had good experiences with both, I don't have a preference. The dial (looks), case and bracelet (looks and
ergonomy), for me, are far more important.

In the end, both are bulletproof and you can't go wrong with either. It's just personal preference. They both are fairly polished all over, so they will collect more visible scratches.

Case is better on the 126, as others have said, but the hidden clasp is great. You can get a great fit with the half link if needed. The power reserve difference could be a plus. Obviously if you want an oyster bracelet the 126 is going to be better. The 116 also had more interesting dial options over the years.

I was debating on the same and tried on the 116 with hidden clasp in full gold and it was game over. I'd have gotten a 126 if they'd bring it back someday tho!! But ya, it's a deal-breaker imho - not a fan of scratched up buckles.

116234. The hidden clasp bracelet is so good. I regret letting mine go a few years ago

I have been struggling with the 116233 vs 126233 issue myself and have come to the conclusion that the Super Jubilee on the 11 series (vs the bulky buckle on the 12) is what makes it for me.

Also whenever possible, I try to buy a 31xx movement if available over the 32xx. So for this DJ it will be the 11 series. A personal decision.

For the DD40 platinum with fluted bezel I have been waiting for, it will have to be a 32xx....(my first 12 series).

Excited to learn which one the OP chose.

I went with 126234. I had the old ref before with a casino dial and feel the newer bracelets and case are more refined.
