Rolex 126655 RG YM40 - surprised how nice it is

I visited an AD yesterday and tried on a few watches. I could not believe how much I loved the RG YM40 on Oysterflex. It’s on my radar screen now.

Curious what prior buyers think of this watch. Is it a keeper? Any regrets?

Tried it on in KL last month and loved it a lot. Was very tempted at the lower RRP price there but in the end decided I am still going to keep waiting for the YG DT (with THAT dial) on OF as been promised the next one.

I tried it on numerous times and have been offered it to me by the AD. I wanted to love it so I could add it, but something kept holding me back. I can’t put my finger on it. But Roger, you do you!

I had the 116655 and loved it. Sadly needed to sell it post divorce along with a few others to subsidize a new house. I would definitely like to get it back at some point.
Its still in my avatar as i loved it so much.

TBH, I've never been terribly attracted to the YM line; however, that watch looks fantastic and may cause me to reconsider the YM. In short, that looks stunning.

It is a great watch! I was considering buying it. However the price point is the issue to me. If you are ok buying it preowned, I think it can be a lucrative option at around $25k.

However at AD price list I will take Daytona over it any day.

Had same experience - the RG on the OF really surprised me - not a RG fan - but in this combination it really works it’s a stunner!

I have had mine (116655) for the past 6 years and have never regretted the purchase for a single day. I will tell you that the Yachtmaster and particularly this one do not get a lot of love but the people who have purchased them seem to love them. You will also see quite a bit of people who purchased the watch, sold it, and then repurchased it because they missed it. I say go for it, you won’t regret it.

RG would not look good on me but no denying it, that is an incredible looking watch.

Aesthetically possibly one of the nicest in Rolex’s catalogue I’d say.

The YM Range is just superb generally.

It’s so nice. My favorite YM. Seen it once IRL and it made a very positive impression on me.

I really like this piece. I tried it on at the AD the other day as well. Vintage vibes and wears really nice. I have to really love a piece to spend $30k on it though, this one isn’t quite there for me

I'm not an owner but a few years back I was boarding a plane and walked by a gentleman sitting in business class who was wearing one. He was well put together and the watch just oozed coolness on him. I'm not the biggest fan of Oysterflex but this watch has real some presence on the wrist and is one that I do like. Good luck!

I just sold my TT YM 40 with Chocolate dial to fund the Full RG on OF....I love the TT, but everytime I am at the boutique and get a chance to see the RG...ooof. I hope to pick mine up in the next 30-60 days once I part ways with a few other pieces to make room and clear funds :-)

Thats a really good picture, I was a fan of the white gold version, but when I saw it in person it did not look as attractive as the pics on the Rolexs website. I always like to see a watch in person prior to a purchase....

I’ve had it for almost 3 years and it’s truly one of my favorites and a regular go to. Extremely versatile if you don’t want full PM.

When I first tried it on I fell in love with it, however I was reluctant because of the price. I kept waffling and trying it on and my wife finally said just get it already.

It really was a great piece! I had it for almost 4yrs before letting it go....but I could never totally get the RG OF out of my mind completely...plus I used to WIS logic with my decision making....I have an explorer 39mm (oyster bracelet fully brushed) and an Daytona 116500LN (PCL oyster bracelet)...it seemed logical to leave the TT on oyster bracelet and add the OF...and the miniglide lock is really cool. I will really miss that chocolate dial though....it can look so different depending on the lighting you are in....
