I have owned both multiple times but YG works for me better based on my skin tone. I also coordinate metals with my accessories and RG is much more difficult to match.

I find Rolex RG very pink, too much copper in the alloy perhaps. To me, the YG is much more vibrant and warmer with just the right amount of copper, just enough to give the YG a slightly darker hue.

In my honest opinion, yellow gold exudes the traditional gold appearance, offers a classic and timeless look, which is often associated with elegance and opulence, though it may be more prone to scratches. My preference however is personal and based on my style, fashion sense and history of watch ownership over the years.

I like rose gold, but Rolex Everrose is a little too dark a color for me. On Rolex I would for yellow gold.

I love Rolex’ RG but yellow gold looks better on my skin, as I tend to run more pale.

My money went with white gold though, as I have a white gold Submariner

White Gold - looks somewhat like steel and not much special.
Yellow Gold - very shiny and classic, can be often seen on successful artists and football players in bulk. :)
Rose gold - somewhere in between, that is why I choose it for my Daytona OF.

The person who wears yellow gold when it doesn't match his skin-tone is exactly the sort of person who should wear yellow gold.

The person who wears yellow gold only because it matches his skin-tone should not wear yellow gold.

Yellow gold for me. The rose gold looks nice on other people, but not on me. Also, the yellow is more natural.

Your bank account might dictate some aspect.
In my case my SO gifted me the WG Sub and RG GMT.
YG DD a corporate gift.
My favorite right now is the RG.

PM vs TT or SS? Sure. But RG vs YG? Probably not. At least not at retail. They don't differ enough to the point where most people would pick one over the other simply based on the price. When you already spend enough for PM, it's easy to justify the extra cost of the RG if you like it. Whereas skin tone will certainly dictate which you pick. RG will suit some people more. YG will suit some people more. Or you could always go SS/WG/PT which generally suit everyone but that's beside the point.

When I look at rose gold, my mind immediately think of new polished copper. It does look nice on Some.

I've always been a fan of the classic yellow gold plus it goes well with my skin tone. Nothing wrong with rose gold, it's just a matter of preference.

YG is my first choice 99% of the time, especially if having a choice of both, and on full bracelet.
Becomes more of a decision when you’re talking about something on strap…then it comes down to aesthetics for me personally.
