I'm in the minority, but I've never been a fan of the blue on the Platona. Love YG Subs.

I think I am with Mike on this. The Daytona is sensational but I think the Sub looks best on you. Both incredible references.

Platona is probably more versatile. Depends on your wardrobe.

Would like to know what else is in your collection and what watch you might want to add if you make a sale.
Those are both really nice, I love wearing a YG sub, just something about it. But platinum is always top dog. I think you could get better money for the Daytona, the gold subs are a better buy than a good sale. so I guess for that reason I’d let go of the Daytona if I was torn and replace it with selecting really cool, probably an AP

I prefer the Sub, it matches skin tone and body build (well arm wrist we can see in photo).

The Daytona is too fussy for my liking, but still a beautiful watch and if you can keep it for occasions.

Value wise, the Daytona today wins hands down but who knows what the future will bring. Yellow gold could come roaring back into fashion over white metals, especially with the continued rise in the spot price.

I think both look good on your wrist. When I say that I am surprising myself as I would never wear a YG Submariner but I'd be happy to wear the old Platona with diamonds. IMO it is the best of the Platonas as it isn't "ruined" by brown subdials. So the YG Submariner would have to go despite looking good on your wrist.

Just on looks I think the gold sub. Which one do you tend to wear more?

I like the Sub, I am not a fan of the blue and brown on the Daytona

No-brainer, keep the Daytona especially since it's been discontinued and looks absolutely fantastic. The Sub is far less special and can always be replaced if you end up missing a YG piece.

Tough choice because they are both stunning. That said, the Daytona is an absolute show stopper. I love that watch!

Honestly the sub looks amazing and never liked the look of the brown and light blue on the Daytona. The combo has never made sense to me.

If I had a Platona with baguettes it would be the last watch in my collection I’d move.

I primarily wear my gold Submariner, but I also own a stainless steel Daytona.

Let's face it, they're both striking watches. There really isn't a 'better,' just different.

As to all the other stuff, well that only matters if it's important to you. If it is, well, my experience with Daytonas is they typically do better in resale than other sports models...but really, I don't know if it's enough to hold on to something you don't like as much as something else.

I'd go with the YG Sub, that looks pretty cool with your skin tone and gives a perfect fit, but the choice totally depends on you as both are good watches regardless.

Your welcome but you still haven’t really made it yet.

Looks small in this pix.

If you slide it down to where it should be would it be too loose?

The Sub compliments your wrist pretty well, so that's what selecting.

Indeed, with the watch worn that high, it does appear somewhat small. The bracelet would not be excessively loose, as I can adjust it for a more snug fit. I had repositioned it that high as a jest. Nevertheless, I do favor my watches to be worn with a slight degree of looseness.

It's subjective. To me the Submariner looks better to someone else to Daytona looks better which one looks better to you? now I would think the one that's most difficult to come by would be the Daytona so perhaps that would influence some people's thinking about which one looks better because it's more difficult to find again which one do you like better.

I love both watches but the sub makes a bigger statement from a visual perspective.

If this was between the platinum DD40 and the sub I’d go DD…but Daytona’s are best in SS imo.

I am more inclined towards the yellow gold sub. However, the only aspect that I find slightly concerning is the attention it tends to attract. I prefer the idea that no one knows I am wearing an expensive watch. I just need to overcome that and not worry about it.
