Can you send your GMT in without an insert?

If it is, then that’s an issue and you’ll need to go aftermarket obvs.

This was at st james approx 3 months ago and the cost for a Pepsi was about £110 inc fitting and keeping the old one.

Edit - the insert looks ok btw - and in all honesty it’s bloody hard to tell. Personally while I can I’d go to RSC but that’s not convenient for many I acknowledge.
The case gets marked LN?

Per Rolex, that’s the check they make when you take your watch in.

The case of a GMT2/16710 is not marked LN or with any indication of the original bezel insert colour. If the papers are originally from Europe (and maybe other non USA countries) they will also not indicate the original bezel colour.

If you take your GMT to a RSC in London, they will swap the bezel insert for a new one. I did this 2 months ago. They will swap the insert on a like for like basis (it does not matter whether the current insert is a different colour to the one that was on originally when new). They will NOT give you back the old insert. It costs about £110.

…also my watch was originally LN/black insert on a 16710 (no indication of LN on the paperwork). The watch was on an old coke insert and RSC St James swapped this for a new coke insert (they actually said as my appointment was late, that I could swap it for any insert colour) and they kept the old coke bezel.

On the receipt they gave me after the change, it stated the watch was an LN even though there’s no indication on the watch original paperwork and I didn’t tell them (I knew it was originally on black).

Paying a premium for a Pepsi or Coke 16710 in Europe when the papers just state “16710’, seems a bit daft in my opinion.

Bare in mind here, that if you've got a 16700, a 16710 insert will not fit it.

You can do anything you like with 16710's because they came with Black, Pepsi and Coke. Jubliee, Oyster, whatever. 16700's are a different story.

Its a different reference, you can only spec it with what was originally available.

That is incorrect. All 16700, 16710 and 16760 inserts are interchangeable.
