I think it looks great, the 41 would've been borderline too big.

6.5 inch wrist I would go for the 36 mm case and not 41 mm

I had a personal DateJust II (116300), then recently purchased a DJ on Jubilee (126333) which were both 41mm. I was skeptical about the 36mm and grabbed a 1987 (16013), and could not be happier using it for my everyday wear.
I was up in the air also, and it looks perfect... |

I would advise you to always buy and wear what you like without paying attention to what others think about it.
I wear watches between 34 and 44mm in diameter and find every one of them beautiful, which is why I bought these things. The 36mm Datejust is, in my opinion, a timeless classic and always works anyway. |

It depends on who's wearing it. For most, the 36 is perfect, but obviously for people with larger risk sizes the 36 might seem a bit small. All depends on you.

I bought a 1603 a while ago...I always had the idea that the minimum for my wrist should be 38...this 1603 looks amazing on the wrist...

I wear a 31mm Datejust Tridor and now I can't go back to 36mm. I have 6 3/4 inch wrist and just love how compact and neatly it fits on the wrist.

The 36 is an excellent size for most people IMHO.

The 36mm was fine the day they introduced that size, early 50’s I believe. 70 odd years later Rolex is still producing the 36mm, must be a demand somewhere.
