New Patek 5172G

Hey all,

Its been a busy week, we sold our Business last Sunday. After 9 years of ups and downs, more ups than downs, we decided now was a good time to get more air cover as they say. I am still involved and will continue to run it day to day but we now have a bit more clout in what is uncertain times.

Of course being a watch collector this event can only mean one thing! I chose the watch about 18 months ago but unfortunately my AD got it in around April time! I wasn't ready as the deal to sell had dragged on a bit but the dealer was great. He knew I really wanted it so held it for me which I am very thankful for.

I am 50 and when I think of Patek, I think of chronographs first of all so I am delighted my first one is a manual Chrono. I hope to get more but this seemed a great place to start.

Two days now I have had it and I have to say the numerals keep catching my eye. The black borders are fantastic and I keep looking at them at different angles.

The whole experience at the AD was fantastic, different class and everything I had hoped for. I am very lucky to be able to own this watch and I will cherish it and remember when I bought it for the rest of my life.

Some no doubt terrible pics to follow.

It's nice to get a reward from the hard work put for years in a business. Going for a manual chronograph is indeed a very interesting move at Patek and watchmaking in general. I'm glad your overall experience was memorable as it is part of the pleasure.

Congratulations and wear it in the best of health.

Thanks to you all.
Strap is starting to mould into my wrist nicely. I think because of the quality of it, it’s pretty stiff to start with.
