How many pieces have you owned more than one time?

Someone made a post earlier this week about buying the Hulk for a 2nd time. It has me thinking how many times have I owned a watch more than once? And actually it’s been many times at least three different watches. The Starbucks, I’ve owned twice Rose gold Panerai submersible two times. And the sprite I’ve actually owned three times. I’m curious how many others have done the same thing. Side note I’ve owned the hulk once and I plan on owning it again soon just waiting for the right one to come along again. Same with the blue skydweller.

I’m on my 2nd BLNR (11 series) and if the money I could spend on watches was unlimited then I’d probably re-buy others too.

I made a long post about this a few weeks ago but I sold all my rolex and am now going back to it for my sportswatches.

You just can’t beat the combination of design, quality, comfort, ease of service etc.

I’ve owned 2 DJs now and a few submariners but to be fair they were all very different generations.

I’ve owned 3 Milgauss. Two were black dials with clear sapphire and one was the blue dial with green sapphire. The orange lightning bolt second hand always sucks me back in.

I also just realized that I’ve owned the nd sub three times. That one is a bit interesting the two previous times my friends wanted them. I’m always Glad to spread the love with that piece. Same with my most recent carbotech Panerai. My son in law completely fell in love with it so on his wrist it goes I will for sure be getting another one.

I've owned four different Tudor Black Bay 41mm over the years, from the standard, to the GMT, to the ceramic. None are with me now. I love them all, but they never seem to stick for some reason. Guess when it's time to downsize the collection, the Tudors always seem like the low hanging fruit. All great watches but nothing special enough about any of them to stick longterm. Watch, I'll probably wind up getting another before long.

I sold my YM after 5 years to fund the purchase of my Bluesy, then bought my actual YM back from the dealer, 10 days later . A bad case of seller's remorse.

None. I do an incredible amount of research. I know exactly the thing that I want, save up for it, buy it, never look back. In my brain, this is the only way to do it. I struggle to understand the buy-sell-buy loop. Is my way "correct?" To me, yes. To you, it's your money & sanity. That's none of my business. You've got one shot to be happy on this planet & if that means re-buying a watch you thought you wouldn't miss, do it. It's just money after all.

Several to be sure. It wasn't a big deal years ago when everything was in the case. Things were easily replaced if a sale was later regretted. Now, your most likely, totally out if you ever bought the piece from your AD and want one again.

None. The only one I would say is on the “must buy another some day” list is a 14060.

I’m guessing that in this scenario a later reference doesn’t actually count?

Good for you! Great watches.
One of my 2 mistakes with watches was selling a 114300 black.. miss that one.

Bluesy x 3. Submariner LN x 3. DJ x 3. BLNR x 2. The second BLNR I still have and is my only one. Also had the CHNR, Sub Date LN, and Sub Date LV. Only one I might want back is the Sub LV and the only other one I would get and never had is the SS Daytona LN. No regrets not having the CHNR or the DJ. The sub and sub dates LN I liked but I don’t miss them. Was a big mistake giving up the BLNR but thankfully my AD got me it again.

I've had 2x 16610LN; 3x 16610LV. Reason being in the case of these two references was largely condition and set-completion. First 16610LN was incomplete. 2nd was NOS and complete - Kept this one :)

With the Kermit, I was after a particular "shade" of green on the insert.

Deep Seas 4x. 1st through 3rd generations and a change to a JC.

Think I can wear it daily but can't due to size/proportions.

Twice on all the following;

Sub Date LN
GMT LN
GMT CHNR
GMT BLNR jubilee
Milgauss GV

This hobby is nuts.
