126610LV (Starbucks) too similar to the 126710VTNR (sprite)?

I currently have the Mk1 bezel 126610lv and am considering adding the 126710VTNR (at retail - I won't pay grey market prices). With both having the same shade green are they too similar to have in a 3 watch collection? The 3rd watch is a BLNR. I won't be offered any other gmt variation.

I previously had a black bezel sub date but found it too similar to BLNR. I'm wondering if I'll end up feeling the same with the LV/VTNR together.

You'll end up feeling the same way! I love my VTNR (I'm left handed and wear pieces on RH), and found my 114060 dial just too similar. Other's may disagree, but that's how I felt. Regardless, the VTNR is a great piece that is fun to own.

I have both.

TBH, the GMT and the Submariner series are really similar. the GMT case is basically the same as the 11- case submariner. But we see people here with a 3 watch case of submariners and GMTs all the time.

You should buy it if you love it.

Everyone's tastes are different. The ultimate 3 watch case for me would have neither unless I was left handed.

Well starbucks is coffee sold in cups either plastic or china, while sprite is a fizzy soda like drink sold in cans or plastic bottles so totally different.

Not for me. I think they go great together.
Especially if you get the VTNR on jubilee.

Crowns on different sides, date windows in different places, different sizes, one is a diver and one is a GMT. One has a half black bezel insert and one doesn't. They sound almost identical!

Exactly this

Besides the GMT wears differently than the Submariner IMO

Love when posters make a “moral” point of directly stating they won’t pay grey prices, but then imply they will sell for grey prices…

I do not see them as very similar especially if you get the Sprite on a Jubilee. I also do not think they wear alike. Go for it. At worst, you wear it for a few months and find out.

I have both and yes they are quite similar.
If you are adverse to that based on your previous experience, then you might want to consider a root beer rather than a sprite.

If you love green and want to get it for that purpose then you should absolutely get the VTNR.

However if your goal is to diversify your collection then I would choose a different color GMT

I have a 126610 LV Submariner - good looking watch - I am more likely to wear my 126610 LN version though. I’m glad I have the LV Sub, but wouldn’t want to add more green bezels to the collection. Would rather have a GMT GRNR in stainless than the Destro green model.

Here is a pic of the mkii and the sprite side by side. The greens are ever so slightly different but the watches are two completely different pieces and I think they hold a different spot at least in my collection.

Life is short buy the watch-

Go with black dial daytona - that would be grail worthy 3 watch combo

land/air/sea
chrono/gmt/dive
Black bezel/blue and black bezel/green bezel

No moral point being made... I said I won't buy at grey market prices to avoid replies like - get a Pepsi! Get a daytona! This is what is being offered to me so this is my only consideration.

Also, for what it's worth (and not that it matters) - I've never sold to a grey dealer! But I have to other collectors in a private sale.
