Perfect 5 watch collection?

1. Cartier Tank XL - dress watch - have it already.
2. 116613lb or 126618lb - I have both and will sell the 1226618lb to fund either the Patek or JM Daytona.
3. John Mayer Daytona - will buy soon.
4. Patek 5167r - will buy 2025. Hoping prices drop a little more.
5. 116655- have it already.

What do y’all think? Change anything?

Great collection!

It would be nice to have one AP RO in the future too.

Not a huge fan of Cartier or Aquanaut.
Since you are planning to spend tons of money on watches anyway, I would keep RG YM and go for John Meyer and then PP 5712/1A. Great 3 watch collection that covers all needs.
Maybe add GMT for travel in some countries where you would not want to wear PP or gold watches

My perfect 5 watch collection is now up to 11 and getting close to 12.

It’s been a moving target for the past decade as I have to be mindful of:

My lifestyle
How I dress
Where I live

Except for the Santos which I own, none of the watches in your perfect 5 would fit into my rotation.

Your list is solid though!

I’m happy with my 5, at least for now. But I wouldn’t mind adding a 126613LB. For the last month or so, I’ve only worn the Sub, GMT, and Speedmaster.

Something I often think about. For me it would have to be 3 sporty casual, and 2 PM more formal. Chronograph, travel complication, WR, calendar for me are a must. As is brand variety.

Patek 5167a
Royal Oak 15450st blue dial
Rolex DaytonaC white dial

5205G blue dial
JLC reverso ultra thin duo face travel time.

Something like that.

You have a good list of watches already, but I would add an AP and a Patek in the list to make it a complete set IMO.

You have a great collection! I'm not really a big fan of Cartier,
Personally I'd add a GMT Pepsi on jubilee will be a good one, an AP then Patek 5167r as listed in your list. this will make up the list IMHO.

Krash! That's an awesome collection. For the watches you don't wear often, do you think about selling them? I always think about moving the less worn watches so that someone else can enjoy them and I get to free up some $$$ for the hobby. Wife disagrees with me and says how would we ever build a collection if I sell some. To me - its an evolving thing where we get to buy and experience different watches. Like relationships - some are forever and some are just for a season.

Actually, it’s sort of a weird phase I’m going through. I’ve always given all watches equal wrist time. I’m not thinking about selling any, at least for now. But I’m not so sure if I’ll feel that way in the future. I might want to trade one or two in for a 126613LB down the road.
