Zodiac - inherited

So back in 2019 my mother passed away.
While settling her estate I came across a brand new Zodiac watch in a cabinet.
It is a Marine Life Professional, quartz.
It was unused with the plastic still on the crystal and band.
Needless to say it was not running.
I took it to the jeweler and had a new battery installed.
At the time I was my oldest brother's caregiver and he was enamored with the watch. I had it sized for him and gave it to him.
He wore it maybe once and then placed it back into the box.

Fast forward to March of this year and my brother passed.
Going through his things I found the Zodiac.
I just put it in my safe for the time being and pretty much forgot about it.
While going through my safe last week I decided it was time to get it into service as it's been sitting about 30ish years.

I took it to the same jeweler who installed another battery and put links back into it s that it fit my wrist.

I have done a good bit of sleuthing but cannot find much information about this exact watch other than it was probably made early to mid 90's.

I now have it in my watch rotation so that I may enjoy it.
I still have no idea why my mother had it.
She had been divorced from my father since the mid 80's and never saw another man.
I suppose she could have purchased it as a gift and then changed her mind. She may have even purchased it for herself and then just never wore it as her health had declined to the point she never left the house.

Regardless, I will wear it now with pride and always think of her while doing so.

Very classic 90’s…

I had a TAG in a style similar or to this that my Mother had bought me. I wish I could help with information about it, but I think it’s a really cool watch. I hope you have the fondest memories whilst wearing it.

This is a great story, thanks for sharing, Jim! Very touching and lots of sentimental value here. I like the look of this watch and have always appreciated chronograph watches.

Watches with stories are the best!

If you reach out to customer service at Zodiac, I'm sure they can tell you a lot about the watch.

Thanks for sharing!

Dr. Stu, I actually did but they couldn't find much because of an ownership change?
I believe that was it, but it's been a few years.
Thanks.

Perhaps it found its intended owner! Either way, nice piece of family history to enjoy.
