40mm VS 41mm Subs does anyone notice this or is it just me?

Hi guys
I have the 40mm Sub and maybe it’s just me but do any of you guys that have the 40mm sub notice that under certain indoor lighting conditions mainly fluorescent lighting that the crystal has a cloudy look to it? Am I the only one who notices this?

I’m wondering that since they are using AR coatings on the new 41mm sub if this condition still exists?

I went to the AD last week and compared them side by side and I could not tell a difference under the AD’s lights. And I don’t notice it all the time on mine but when I do it’s annoying

The new AR coated crystals on the 41 are uhh...crystal clear.

I'll show myself out.

I own both and the 124060 with AR coating brings incredible clarity to the dial, almost looks like the crystal is not there at times.

I wouldn’t say the 114060 looks cloudy but there’s definitely a lot more light reflection off the crystal

this is my experience as well with 5 digit, 11 series subs versus the newer 12 series with AR coating. The AR coating does make a difference you can easily see

Do you notice it in all lighting conditions or mostly indoors?

It's the AR coating on the underside of the crystal on the 41.
Noticeable difference between the two.

You should notice it indoors as well. In my very humble opinion they wear about the same on the wrist with the clasp on the 41 wearing larger.

Eh just like I don't really notice a wearing difference between mine I don't notice a clarity difference either. Have 2 of each.

Just get a new AR crystal on your 40.

I asked the AD if I sent it in for service could I request exactly that and she said they bring it back to factory specifications. So I don’t know how I would get an AR crystal on it.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I have both and never notice enough difference to be upset over the lack of AR coating on the one piece. I guess it’s one of those things that if you don’t have it, you really want it, but if you have it, then it’s no big deal.
