I can vouch for your statement here as I recall and remember you as an educated and quite astute watch enthusiast

Any time someone calls a watch without solid panda subdials a panda, I think duh....

For some reason, with the black hands on the white dial, the hands look too thin to me. Is it an optical illusion, because the white hands and white lume makes the hands look thicker?

Between the two of course I would choose the Rolex Daytona white dial. However I will have to say the omega Speedmaster is a master chronometer certification meaning it's 0 to + 2 seconds per day compared to the superlative chronometer certification of the Rolex which is -2 + 2 seconds per day so the Omega edges out the Rolex in the accuracy of its movement. But as far as the watch that has more prestige and is by far better known the Rolex wins all day long. However as far as I'm concerned I think they both could have an improvement of a date complication somewhat similar to the vacheron Constantine however the vashron is of course a much better watch than either of the those two.

It all depends on preference, both are different watches, Omega has a great history and can be an everyday watch but I'd would still go with the Daytona.

That makes a lot of sense. I have always thought the hands on the white dial Speedy seemed small.

The Daytona is a beautiful watch but if legibility matters to anyone, the Speedy is way easier to read. And I despise screw down pushers. Daytona is also smaller than I like personally. Even though the Speedy wears smaller than it's 42mm size, it still wears larger than a Daytona, and that's a good thing. Speedmaster FTW

1). I am used to having larger watches ( DSSD which i adore)
The Panda feels smaller to even the GMT, but it fits and feels very very well,, like it melds to the skin...
2). I love the idea of screw down pushers....why wouldn't I? to me, it adds additional safety....and if to use, how long does it take to unscrew..?...like, are we measuring critical life-threatening issues LOL...

There is a reason the Panda is so in demand....first time i got mine, and even looking at it, it is a stunning piece...

if its good enough for Stallone, Roger etc....its good enough for a bottom feeder like me hehehe...

would i get the Speedy? sure, why not? The manual wind taks got to me...had the black one twice and sold it both time..:)

First world problems, I know, but have you tried to unscrew the daytona pushers while wearing it? I don't even think it's recommended as it would introduce quite a bit of torque onto the pushers while it's on the wrist. Taking the watch off just to activate the chrono is less than ideal.

Speedy you can do it all on the wrist!

I may be the minority here, but I way prefer thr Speedmaster in black. That is the “OG” watch. I’m not a fan of the white Speedy at all.

Between these two watches, I’d choose my Daytona, except on a Tuesday when I’m now totally conditioned to reach for my Speedmaster. It’s a sickness. Go figure!

You can also just leave the pushers unscrewed

I think the White Moonwatch looks better than most modern Daytonas.
The ceramic dial is pretty spectacular and just special.

But, the older true pandas, ie. like the Paul Newman Daytonas, also have that true special feel.

If you can walk into any AD, and get a Daytona, then that’s what I would choose.

I love the new white dial Speedmaster, but I already have a black one, and I just don’t see the point of having both.

No - no difference between 12 and 11 Daytona diameters.

They look weird to me when left unscrewed. Stick out too far. I hate the idea that you have to take the watch off to operate the chrono. I tried doing it on the wrist at the AD and struggled with it. Prefer the regular pushers like the MW. I'll sacrifice some water resistance for the convenience.

The Speedmaster is a true 42 in the sense that the case measures exactly 42mm across, however the bezel is only a little less than 40mm across. So it wears more like a 40-41. It's a really nice size and works for all but the smallest wrists.

The lug-to-lug size of the 42mm Speedmaster makes it wearable. It’s roughly the same length of the Submariner at around 47mm. By comparison, the 42mm Seamaster is 50mm. I have both, and the Seamaster wears a lot larger than the Speedmaster. But the case size is basically the same.

I have owned the 116500LN with the white dial for over a year. This spring I signed up for a white Moon. In the meantime, a friend of mine picked up his and let me carry it around for a while, so I could take a closer look at it. Last week I got a call from AD Omega saying my piece was waiting for me. I didn't pick it up. There's no point comparing the Daytona to the Moonwatch.

The main thing is speedy is not water friendly. Theres a single gasket on the crown that gives it 30m wr. No gaskets on the pushers and no screw down crown.

Rolex (other than celini) are all WR watches with screw down crown. And of course, daytona has white gold and Speedy does not.

That being said, I handled it in Omega boutique in Vegas back in July and its a great and better looking watch. The white dial is lacquered and the black accents are slightly polished. It pops more than daytona.

But having a pool and hot tub in my backyard, I prefer watches with screw down crown.
