Which 47mm Panerai is most iconic?

Of these models:

372
127
690

And why you think so.

127, the first 47 Luminor for public consumption.

The 690 radiomir has the DNA which of Panerai produced watches for the military (Italian) frog man 1930's the crown guard came later 1950's . The 690 would be first and the 127 and the 372 second when it comes to iconic. All great watches that have the simplistic design and very legible.

When I think of a Panerai I think of the 372.

The 127 is the modern-era (if we can call the 2000s that..) 'original,' and probably captures and carries best the excitement and and passion of what Panerai previously was.

Agreed. The plexi, gold hands and sandwich dial nail that historic vibe it was going for in my opinion.

For modern 47mm Panerai icons, I would say 127, 232, 249 and 372, with an honorable mention for the 690.

Of the three listed in the first post, it has to be the Fiddy.

OP here. Thanks for all the answers.

I currently have a 233, which I love but at 44mm is my largest watch.

Not sure I can go to 47mm, but these three models are so iconic.

To narrow the question, if I already have the 233, which of these will complement it the best?

I would say the 127 is THE watch I picture in my mind when I think of a 47mm. The 000 for a 44mm.

Agree that it's hard to justify everyones' votes without a picture. So here's one.

Just picked up this 372 from 2012 from my AD. I will buy a 127 at some point if I can find it for the right money and complete. I also like the 422.

It’s almost certainly the 127 which arguably created the hype that caused the rebirth of the brand. From Stallone to 50 cent (called the watch fiddy), and others, the Panerai brand returned to popular culture because of this watch.

Here is mine
