Code 11.59 strap alternatives.
I love my code, which ended as a gifted watch from the wife, as an alternative to the Oysterflex Daytona (simply was too small and felt like a ladies watch).
I have the second edition (Blue face Chrono) lacquer dial with the blue alligator strap, but want to swap out for something more versatile. I am about to order the rubber / textile one from AP, but wondered if anyone has any other strap alternative suggestions. There seem to be very few options and the usual manufacturers (Rubber B) etc, do not seem to offer any options. Many thanks for your help. |

I have both the original rubber/leather strap and an OEM AP alligator strap for my steel code chrono. Both are truly excellent quality.
I’ve seen a few aftermarket options online but not many, maybe due to the fact that the straps on the Code are actually fixed by screws, not just spring bars. These little screws (hexagonal obviously) are actually one of the nice features of the amazing case, as they illustrate the attention to detail that I really like about the Code line. |

Most of the codes have a solid bar held in place by the two screws (and if yours doesn’t, the boutiques have the solid bar/screw kits in stock).
I use regular 22/20 straps all the time with my codes, I don’t like the stiffer straps and find they give the watch a different look. Just be careful to make sure everything is lined up before screwing tightly, I’ve seen people bend the bars or damage the case if things arent aligned |

I find most 22mm straps work well.. but depending on the code, you might want different thicknesses. On the chrono, a thicker strap looks better since the lugs are larger.. on the time only or starwheel I like the thinner straps since the lugs / case are a little thinner
