GMT Master II power reserve

Hi, am a recent first time Rolex owner, newest reference 126710BLNR. I cannot seem to get a power reserve much past 48 hours. Have tried winding anywhere between 20 to 40 rotations. Have never had issue getting stated PR specs with other brands such as Omega/Tag Heuer. Anything I may be missing here from other owners before I take in for service? (purchased from an extremely reputable dealer). Thanks.

First to try would be winding it a bit more - maybe 50 or 60 turns. The longer PR of the 32xx series means a longer mainspring which could explain it needing a few more winds.

Secondly (and apologies for asking) are you sure it's definitely a 126710BLNR and not a 116710BLNR?

Depends on how you are winding it to fully wind would need around 40-50 full crown turns clockwise only. You cannot overwind it then should have power reserve of around 60-70 hours off wrist give or take a hour or so.

I’m somewhat curious about longer power reserves.

I don’t own any 32xx movements. My older 31xx references run all weekend long if I happen to remove Fri night and wear again on Monday.

What’s the point of longer power reserves again?

Is it considered an upgrade or improvement?

I easily get ~70 hours reserve when fully wound. Sounds like you are not giving it a full 40 winds. Full 40.

Appreciate the feedback. Yes it is new reference. Had my first successful 70 hr mark this evening. Guess I just have to wind north of 40 in future. Keeping my fingers crossed.
