Howdy,

That is an absolutely fantastic photo! I had that exact same toy growing up in the mid 70s and your picture really took me back.

Take care,

Ruddiger

Have got an 18yr old speedmaster and I have just realised I cannot post a picture as I haven't posted enough yet!!

Just got it back from it's second service and it is like a brand new watch. Rebuilt the strap, serviced fully internally and polished the bezel, which I was a little upset about as that watch was showing some lived in touches. I had a lovely scratch near to the 12 marker which was a result of getting too close to the coral on the barrier reef. Or as I like to call it the badge of honour.

Show Your Vintage Omega.

Got my 1969 Omega Geneve Cal 613 Quickset Date on today. Haven’t worn it for ages, dug it of the watch box wound it up and off she went. Looked so good I decided to fit an 18mm aftermarket strap I bought a few years back but never got round to fitting it:

This was my uncle’s from about 1959. Had it cleaned and serviced with new crystal and crown.

How many tears is it for an Omega watch to be considered “vintage “? 30, 40 or more years?

Here’s a few interesting ones.

The all gold De Ville was my Dad’s engagement present from Mum in 1964. Still a complete set of boxes and papers. As fashions have changed it doesn’t get worn much. It has a replacement dial after a swimming incident in the 80’s
The Omega Auto is a very rare 3977 from late 50’s. This I believe has a redial.
The Seamaster was my wife’s Grandfather’s watch.
