Surpise GMT Incoming!!!

I have been on the list with my two local ADs for a GRNR for the past year. I periodically check in and do the the typical AD/customer dance. I've been borderline obsessed with this watch since its release. It's not the most popular GMT model (most like batman and pepsi more) so I've been a bit surprised at the wait, but so it goes. I am not a gold guy and didn't think I'd ever want a two-tone watch, but this watch is absolute stunner in person. Like I said, I've been obsessed. :)

I was traveling for work this past week. There was a Rolex boutique across the street from my hotel, so of course I wandered in to "look around". Ha. Tried on the GRNR, chatted with the AD for a bit. I let her know, I've been on the list at my local ADs, but came in because "hey, you never know". I asked if she had it in stock and available, but admitted that I knew that was a long shot. She and I both laughed at the question (given the current state of supply/demand). I let her know that I get to her town for work quite a bit and that if one came available I'd make a trip there to get it. Overall, a really pleasant exchange, she took my info and I left thinking, I'll never hear from her again (out of towner, no spend history at this boutique, yeah right, good luck try again next time).

It would be understatement to say I was shocked when she texted me 30 minutes later and told me she had it available if I was able to come back to the boutique! Needless to say, I got back over there immediately and picked up this beauty. Pictures don't do it justice. I love it.

This reference is an absolute gem. Even friends I know who adamantly dislike two tone like this reference.

Congrats and enjoy that silky smooth Jubille!

I love this one too. I'm waiting on a Root Beer, but this one has got me re-thinking that.

Congrats.

Congratulations! It's a beauty, and great story of how you got it. I was lucky enough to get one from my AD in June of last year and is one of my favorites in my collection.

You are correct, it is a stunner in person. In my opinion, the new SS GRNR looks pale in comparison. The touch of gold and gold indices on the bezel just makes the watch pop which isn't the case on the SS version.

Again, congratulations!

I love stories like that! Congratulations! It’s a beautiful piece. I was offered it early after its introduction, declined and have been sorry ever since. Looks great on you!

Wow, what an incredible story! Congratulations on snagging the GRNR, especially after such a long wait and with the odds stacked against you. It must have been such a thrill to get that text just 30 minutes after your visit! It’s always amazing when things line up unexpectedly like that, and the fact that you were able to grab it while traveling makes it even more special. Enjoy that stunning timepiece!

Congrats, great story! I’m not much of a TT fan either, but that has been on my list for a while too. It’s a stunning piece.

Lightning does strike sometimes.

Wear it in good health, you deserve it.

Cheers
