I’ve been offered the black dial twice-would buy the white dial if offered.

They REALLY need to make a rose gold 1908, also would be cool to have a moonphase like the Cellini's did back in the day

Couldn't agree more. The Cellini Moonphase is one of my favorites...

I put my name down for an Explorer 1 and a pt 1908. I would love if something comes of either one!

There was a 1908 at AD YG with black dial, very nice but not my cup of tea. The Cellini was a looker but I never wanted one , now that they are more reasonable maybe.
The 1908 price point is a bit much for what it is. I have not seen the Platinum 1908 yet in the flesh, that baby blue dial is amazing in the pictures. Dials are my weak point. My choice for a dress piece would be a Patek with some kind of complication or even a AP 11.59 or Lange. There are a few others I would also consider. |

The dealer in Cabo had a platinum on display last month. Not sure if it was 'for sale'. I handled it, and it's really nice, but I didn't ask about availability.

I would buy it if they bundled me with something I want. But wouldn’t buy it on my own.

Expecting the first platinum one when my AD gets it, they’ve got white and yellow but no pt yet. I’ll post pics asap

I have seen them in person and they appear like a cross between a field/dress watch combo (which I really like). I have a Cellini Date 50515 and I like the fact that it does not have a finicky/delicate movement, has a screw down crown and 50M water resistance. In essence, not worried about taking it in the rain or falling in a pool. Both the Cellini and 1908 are both handsome, but sadly both won't catch on because they aren't the "typical" Rolex.

Saw one in the metal in Madrid, Spain. I like dress watches, the 1908 didn't really appeal to me though. A combination of reasons. I'd rather stick to the usual suspects when it comes to a dress piece.

Tried the platinum one yesterday at the AD. It fits very well and the blue is very pretty, quite slim with a nice movement. The price is also quite acceptable, I would buy one in a large collection

Have been offered the black dial at four different AD’s with no purchase history. Have not yet seen the white face or Platinum in person.

They had two available as walk in Bucherer south coast plaza yesterday. White dials. White and yellow gold. Tried both on just not much of a dress watch guy.
Highly considered the yl gold.

It's unfortunate to me that Rolex hasn't done a steel run of the Cellini or 1908. It would leverage Rolex's expertise with steel with this style of watch. JLC and others do it after all.

Rose gold case and ivory dial would be awesome.
