Bittersweet..

Last week I found out that my AD is losing Rolex. I got lucky to get this from the exhibition case.
This may very well be my last piece.

Sorry to hear that about your AD. That stinks. Nonetheless, congrats on your awesome Explorer II. Looks fantastic.

How long did you work with them? It's difficult re-starting with a new AD.

My go to AD lost the account in 2021 after a 25 year relationship. It's taken so much effort the last 2.5 yrs that I now call it work.

After my 2 trusted ADs lost their status, it’s been like climbing Mt. Everest to gain the access I had.
I’m literally through buying new; now, focusing on finding NOS 5 digit professional series watches. Much more fun and satisfying with much less games to be played by arrogant ADs.
Going to look at 2 this weekend….a GMT Coke and Explorer II.

I’ve been dealing with them since 2018. They also lost Cartier. All in all between me and my wife, we bought 9 pieces from them.

No definitive answer given however it was hinted that Rolex might be selling exclusively at their boutique.

Bittersweet for sure. Congratulations on a great watch.

I endured the loss of two ADs and rebuilding sucks but it’s possible.

Beautiful watch! Enjoy!

With regards to the AD, since they are losing both Cartier and Rolex in my opinion something else is amiss and not just that Rolex wanted to sell at a boutique. Could be they didn't want to spend the required capital to refurbish their store.

Congrats OP- fantastic watch!

OP and I share the same AD and, coincidentally, my last pickup was a 226570 polar. I was on track for a 126610LV or BLNR to celebrate my 50th next week, but that is not happening now. My modest spend history is gone and I'm not excited about my prospects of starting over somewhere else. The Rolex model leaves us established 2nd tier collectors in the breeze and I may well be joining the ranks of watch lovers who found another brand to enjoy. Which is not the end of the world.

I didn't get any inside info, but my sense is that another poster may have called it correctly regarding space improvement and allocation. Becoming an Omega AD probably didn't help either. Hopefully the AD can find a way to continue, but I am sure losing Rolex really hurts.

Maybe just the last piece with THAT dealer.

Plenty of other ADs out there.
Can't let that stop you.

Sorry to hear about that AD- but at least you got a sweet Explorer out of them before they lost the line. I love that watch, and I am thinking it will be my next.

There is a small AD here in Michigan, 3 stores but only one has a small Rolex boutique. I am shocked they have not gotten the letter yet.
