Hi all, I’m looking at getting my first RM and most likely an RM005 but have one question. Do you know where/if it is possible to get a black vented strap and a Ti deployment as found a good watch but really want them too and struggling to find any info. Thanks

Hello folks,

I'm looking to get my first RM and popped to a local Boutique last week.

To my surprise, the SA told me that RM010 Ti is now in production again. I realised I liked the looked of that more than a 67-01 and was recommended to put my name down for one.

Wondering if any folks here have picked up a new RM010 Ti recently (as I understand it was discontinued a few years back)? Also is there any technical differences compared with the older models from 2006 to 2012?

Many thanks in advance and I hope to join the RM family soon.

I personally haven’t heard about a new RM010. If it’s reality…hopefully you get one soon

They've been offering it discretely for the past two or so years if I recall. Just remember it's quite a bit smaller, so be sure you like how it feels on the wrist.

Just returned from Singapore Grand Prix. Disappointing result for Ferrari but had a great time. Visited the RM Boutique in Singapore near Orchard Road. If anyone has a chance and is in town, definitely check that store out, it’s a concept store much more like an AP House, so it’s huge with tons of amenities, cigar lounge, arcade games, tv area, etc. Really cool space.

During the race I also spotted abunch of the RM athletes, Mutaz Barshim, Felipe Massa, Mark Cavendish, Miles Chamley-Watson, Wayde Van Niekerk, etc in the paddock as well as Alex Mille.

RM29’s straps fit a RM005 case perfectly.

Finally made the move I’ve been working on for a while. Things finally came together to get this deal done….moved the 11-03 to the much more svelte 72-01.
I was hesitant at first, as I like the bigger case of the 11 series RM’s, but the only thing that ever (kind of) bothered me was the height, just the same as the love/don’t love relationship I’ve had with the Rolex DSSD. Once I saw it in person and put it on my wrist, I absolutely love the dimensions of this piece, it fits perfect and the overall appearance gives it a slightly bigger look/feel than the on paper dimensions would suggest, which is what I was going off of.
On paper its dimensions are the same as (lug to lug 47.5mm and width 38.5mm, which is actually a little less than, width wise) a Daytona. Because of the tonneau case shape, it looks/feels a bit bigger, perfect imo for a wrist size like mine (6.7-6.9 in).
The straps are difficult to source if looking in the marketplace, but I found and bought a couple different colors that I’ll rotate. Added a comparison pic next to a speedy.

Beautiful Richard! That’s my favorite of the bunch. Has everything you’d want in an RM with a more manageable thickness so can wear year round with long sleeves too. Congrats!

Congrats Richard! The 72 is really quite the special watch. Try to get a dark green rubber strap, perfect for fall. Now the real question is, what's next?

Thanks men! The red, light blue, yellow, black straps are what I have so far. Working on the orange and green looks sharp B.
What's next... watch wise I'm good for the moment. Car wise, I'm on a couple vintage interests right now.

Congratulations on the 72-01! It looks amazing. Hoping to add one of these in 2025 myself. Perfect on the red rubber strap. That green is gorgeous as well. I also think they killed it on the factory white strap with this one.

FIRST RM INCOMING!! After many years of circling around RM at a distance as I didn’t appreciate the brand, and wearing lots of other pieces from Rolex, AP, PP, etc, I decided to give it a try. I read this entire thread start to finish at least once, and visited my grey and RM boutique to try on all relevant models. As many of you know, they are all awesome in their own way, and would love to have them all. I decided to start with something to wear as a daily, so wanted a smaller case size and understated look.

I was stuck on which sports model to get, as some had many colors, were too thick for long sleeves, hard to get, expensive, etc. So I thought a 67-01 would do the trick, granted it wasn’t 100% what I wanted, as was hoping to get a sports piece with the various layers of sapphire.

I put in a request for this but got a unique offer. RM was quietly releasing a few brand new RM010’s in Ti and my boutique was allocated one that was coming in a few days. My SA went to bat for me with corporate as a potential new customer and was able to offer this to me. Timing happened to work out in my favor. I picked it up yesterday and absolutely love it! I’m getting a white strap for summer and plan to wear this daily.

I can easily wear the larger pieces, having a flat 7.5” wrist and being 6’2”, and initially requested a 65-01. But this just fits so perfectly and is thin at 13mm. Looking forward to enjoying this for a long time and maybe adding a 67-02 Ogier next.

These are impossible to photograph so here’s a few pics. Appreciate everyone’s guidance along the way!

Don’t get me wrong, I love all the newer pieces, materials, colors, etc. But as my first and possibly only RM, this model is a good way to go and checks a lot of boxes for me.

Thanks Richard! Looking forward to playing with some strap options. Do you change yourself, and if so, did you buy the specific screwdriver online? The boutique strongly recommended against me doing myself as also voids the warranty.

Yes, I do it myself. I did buy the screwdriver online… changing the straps out is very simple , as it just involves four screws. You just need to be careful not to press the screwdriver prongs onto the edges of the holes where the screw heads are screwed down just below the height of the case.. You need to have to have a light hand until you get the screwdriver onto the screw head. I am shocked to hear that it would void the warranty! That seems crazy!

Thanks for the tips! Will give it a try at some point. I ordered the white strap to swap for next Spring. Yes, they said it voids the warranty as they test for WR after swapping. Looks pretty simple and didn’t think the strap screws affect the WR, but who knows.

Love your 72 by the way! Might be next on my list!
