Regulator Watches

I have been thinking that type would be an interesting architecture to add to the collection. I am going to say I never see these discussed, or if they have I have missed such. I see that Chronoswiss has a several configs, but I’m not sold on the brand(yet). For the most part I’m a traditionalist with my watches, so not looking for anything crazy. Anyone have a recommendation?

Check out Alpina watches. There are two different models in the Alpiner Collection. For a long time I have considered looking for the original Alpina Avalanche Regulator from the mid-2000s. They're big and bold, and they're an Alpina mainstay, I think.

Love Raúl Pagès RP1 with the detent escapement. Hand-finished to a high level.

I can see why. In all honesty, I had to look this one up. Pretty amazing. You, sir, operate on a different level.

I wanted a Regulator for sometime but never pulled the trigger just because all of the one I like are on straps and as much as I love how how some watches look on straps, I just never like wearing straps.
The two I was really considering were the IWC Portuguese Regulator and the Dornbluth Regulator. I was really leaning towards the Dornbluth

This just recently posted at EWC. It is pretty close to exactly what I was looking for except it's a bit old, I don't do black leather (easy enough to resolve that), but most of all when I look at this piece all I see is WEMPE.

I have a Dornblüth where I have configured the dial as I want it. Those are great watches.

Had a great chat with Dornbueth product rep from watchbuys today(I think he is the owner). Learned a fair bit about Dornblueth. No CNC, only makes 10-16 watches a month, built to order, very cool stuff. 50%, non-refundable deposit required, 12-16 month lead time. Seriously considering one.

Patek 5235(G), killer microrotor movement with Pulsomax escapement which the more expensive 5236 does not even have. As stealth as you can get with unfilled logo stamp.

Saw a Tulloch T-01 at IAMWATCH (thanks Edward) and it is stunning! Made by Shane Tulloch and the movement is created by Voutilainen. First released in 2020. The finishing of this watch is so sweet. The guilloche on the twin barrels are by hands.

Habring just released a regulator that I think is very attractive. I have it tentatively pencilled in as a next year purchase.
