I think both look great. The 40mm is not too big at all IMO. 36mm is the classic size. If you want a bit more sporty then go 40mm. I have both sizes and small wrists. Still love my 40mm and will never get rid of it

36mm it fits your better. For a dress watch you want to go a bit smaller.
