Smoke me a kipper i'll be back for breakfast

gonna show my face at my AD tomorrow and do the friendly face thing

best case scenario : comes back out with the Starbucks I registered almost two years ago for

expected scenario: we can't make any promises on timelines

Clearly friendly face approach is not working, try an opposite approach!

Well, times have changed. I used to be able to rock up perhaps wait 10-15 mins if my contact was busy to then have a chat but new faces in there now with my contact, who was the manager, retired.

She handed me over to someone who would look after my registration (who subsequently left) and I was put onto a new person.

Was told the person who's list I am on was upstairs and to come back in 15..came back and they were now with a customer.

What really nailed it was what happened next, woman said contact, who is the new manager, would be at least 30 mins and I said can I book an appt for later today then told they were busy all day with almost an impatient 'just leave' feeling about it. She offered to check my registration list and pass along that I had popped in but I declined and said I would email as I'm aware the manager is solely responsible for allocation decisions (confirmed by my previous manager contact) and left feeling rather awkward.

That is 9 years with this AD and 5 watches purchased but in retrospect I should have made an appointment but feel at this point I have zero connection with them and just back to a guy walking in off the street vibe.

It doesn't sound like you were very welcomed at that visit. I hope you get the call for your LV soon.

That’s pretty disappointing. If there is another AD nearby, I’d reach out to them

Interesting report and not surprising. No reason to walk away from an AD that you have good time and history with. Make an appointment and go in and see what they say and how they treat you. There are also many other sources for watches and you should explore them. It is getting to be a buyers market for some watches from all brands. Always difficult to source Daytona's, BLRO and a few other releases. Adapt and find the watches you want.

There's few worse feelings than when you are treated with contempt. This is the reality for Rolex punters.

That being said, you still have purchase history at the AD that should be visible, so reasonable to try establishing a new relationship with a senior SA or preferably management who will advocate for you in the future.

No harm in trying a different AD.
Or you could go grey..

Or could spend ~£10-14K on something actually useful.

Its amazing to me that a lot of us have had these kinds of moments with these ADs. We've put up with a lot including humility while trying to hand these butt wads thousands. Good luck and possibly a move to another AD with this story may help you. That is exactly how I landed my LV in April 2022...

Hang on, did you turn up like this? The real Ace Rimmer would have walked out with a free Daytona!
