I heard that's changed with the new system from Rolex, where an AD can use an online portal to see rough timeframes on incoming inventory.

Deposit requests could well be a solution to short-term cashflow issues, too.

Thanks! I'm liking the mk2 a little better today. The debate is still out to me, though, on which is better! This definitely has a little more personality to it and is more attention-grabbing.

The mk2 is a true green. The mk1 is more Seafoam. I prefer the depth if the mk2 and the not to the original Kermit.

I was asked for, and paid a deposit when my SA requested a watch from another branch. He had to call in some favours so I think it was only fair that I was asked to confirm my intention.

But in the circumstances described in OP, I think its a bit off, if it is an allocated watch and you can get there to complete the sale in a couple of days it should held. As it is there is no watch and might not be, so the dealer has the money as surety against what?

I’d 100% have zero qualms on a deposit or pay in full if pickup was guaranteed within a month. What’s the big deal? It’s a new watch, not like the condition can change, and it locks you in. If I had a client have an issue with this as an AD, I’d probably pass over you as a client as you’d seem difficult. Serious truth
