Vintage Seamaster ref 321 Chronograph back from Switzerland
Just recently received my 1965 Omega Seamaster back from overhaul in Bienne Switzerland. Apparently all ref 321’s are sent to Switzerland for service.
I was a bit nervous about retaining the 60 years of patina on the dial and hands. Was delighted with the overhaul (many parts replaced) with patina not affected and all replaced parts returned. Took a year and was a bit pricey but well worth it. IMG_5338.jpg IMG_5336.jpg IMG_5335.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Wow! What a beauty! Love it! Surprised that it took a year! I'd be sad to be parted with my 321 for a year.
How much was the total cost if you don't mind sharing? Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk |

Just shy of $1,100 total including shipping. I was told that part of the cost reflects the fact that the movement is disassembled twice for quality control. Once to identify and replace worn and defective parts and secondly after a period of running to look for any unusual wear or issues with the new parts and refurbishment. Well worth it!

1.1k is not bad. I recently serviced a vintage st.moritz which had to be sent to chopard, costed $2,350.

Very nice! You must be so glad to have the watch back. These vintage Omega pieces are rather appealing and fun to collect.

A world of WOW! That's rare and beautiful... and even better than it was when new, with the lovely patina.
And as for the price - Patek Philippe is the brand known for disassembling a watch being serviced twice for quality control, and their prices are a *lot* higher. So $1100 is a bargain... |

They do a great job there. Sent this to Southampton and this had to be forwarded to Bienne. They even cleaned and polished what they said is not an official omega bracelet and like you sent all the old parts and crystal back with the serviced piece.

It must feel great to have your 1965 Omega Seamaster back in top condition, especially after such a long wait. I can only imagine the relief you felt when you saw that the beautiful patina was preserved,it's what gives vintage pieces their character. A year may seem lengthy, but having all those replaced parts returned along with the watch makes it even more special. Sounds like it was a worthwhile investment for such a classic piece! Enjoy wearing it!
