I’d say … be patient, hunt a while!
This lapis 6/9 https://loupethis.com/auctions/rolex...diamond-dial-1 sold for $52K in 3/23, when the market was hotter, and it’s WG, which carries a generous premium. I’d think a YG 6/9 lapis should be well under $45K today. |

I found a nice 6/9 one complete from 2000-2001. Last year of production they want 45k. Rolex certified preowned etc. but I duno. I keep hearing from people that the 6/9 lapis dial is not very desirable and could be tough to resell later. I’m not a vintage expert so I just don’t know…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

A good lapis 18238 is certainly findable, but there are also plenty of fakes, *especially* of the no-markers dials. If this were me, I’d just ask a reputable vintage dealer what could be found - I’m lucky in that Matt Bain and Adam Golden of Menta are both very nearby, and Eric Wind is near enough, but they all sell nationwide. (When this *was* me, about 5 years ago, I got mine from Matt.) This is distinctly not an area for novice bargain-hunting. |

Yes it’s a 18238 complete set and the dial was born with the watch and it’s also a Rolex certified preowned watch that was recently completely overhauled few months ago which does add some value…Eric wind is local to me and I did reach out and speak to him. He hasn’t seen any lapis lately and the one thing he did say is the 6/9 dial is not nearly as desirable as the plain lapis and I would prob have a hard time reselling it even for 30-35 if I decided to sell so buying it at 45k really wouldn’t be very prudent…..I prefer the plain lapis without diamonds but I want one that’s original/born with the watch and most of these are “put together” and not ever lapis dial is great. Definitely not bargain hunting but I also think some people are crazy with what they are expecting for these watches, spoke to one dealer that has one and he wanted 65k Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you’ve let the local vintage sellers know what you’re looking for, somebody will certainly find one for you. Meanwhile, you can keep scouring public sales to get a good handle on current pricing. Good luck, we’ll be looking forward to your photos when you find the right one! |

Not sure about the stone dials though given how rare they are today I suspect they weren't that popular at the time. |
