My daily 1675/8 18k gold GMT on rivet bracelet

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share the watch I wear daily and absolutely love. It’s a gold 1675 with a rivet bracelet, dating from the early 1970s. This is my second gold GMT, and I adore this reference for its warm brown tones, the shine of the gold, and those iconic nipple markers.

I believe it has never been polished, but I’d love to hear from the experts for confirmation.

The bracelet is from the same era as the serial number, and while the box, booklets, and warranty aren’t of much practical use day-to-day, they do give me a connection to the original owner.

I'd like to thank all members of this forum who taught me a lot on this reference (like @springer @MorningTundra and others), and @NOPDK whose untouched 1675/8 still haunts me :D

Hope you like it—looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Unpolished? The chamfer tapers look fairly large at the bottom to be original.

While it is a nice example, for me, it appears to have been refinished in the past. Check out the second photo and as an example, look at the two vertical lines on the end link. They clearly show signs of having been significantly polished. Additionally, 18K cases are very prone to scratches - unlike this case.

Hard to imagine these as daily drivers as I have the 16758 serti on jubilee.
Very nice looking regardless of the wear and little tear on yours.

Absolutely beautiful watch and love that rivet link bracelet too! I have been considering trying to source a rivet link bracelet for my TT GMT 1675 or if I should go for a more modern 78363 or even a 93253 bracelet as it is currently on a jubilee. I do like the oyster bracelet as it does look a bit more sporty. With rivet links it just looks elegant. Love @NOPDK's too.

Can you please provide a few images of the box interior, top, and the number on the bottom? On another thread I started there is a gentleman trying to source a box for his 1969 GMT Concorde. I think we have narrowed it down to a 54.00.3 box. If anyone wants to chime in on if that is actually correct, feel free to do so. I do not think that is what you have for yours but was curious nonetheless. This is the thread if you have not seen it: https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=958366

And I will say again, that is a beauty! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful piece, congrats on that one.

Watches of this era that have never been touched are impossible to find
