Buying advice 116500LN white dial

I'm on the hunt for a white dial Daytona and I've come across this example. It's a 2017 example, a full set and from a reputable dealer. Just reaching out to the community and the wealth of knowledge you guys have.. are there any red flags? Any signs of overpolishing or anything else that shouts no no??
Thanks in advance for any opinions/advice.

I mean it’s definitely been polished, they’re not stating this is mint unpolished right? It’s excellent polished condition. Obviously a big difference

Thanks for the feedback. They've not stated mint unpolished. Just wondering what are the big giveaways it's been polished? Does it seem like a bad job as far as polishing goes? Would you avoid?
Thanks

It’s fine. They just cleaned it up (polished) for the sale. I wouldn’t worry about it. It will look like a new watch when you get it.

Yeah agree. I wasn’t insinuating it’s a bad job, I just hate when shady dealers try to say ‘mint/like new ’ but it’s ’polished to mint’. There’s a difference.

So share what you saw as a giveaway of the polishing.

The fact that it’s 7 years old and doesn’t have a scratch on it?

I would hope that’s not the answer as that would be a dangerous assumption. Maybe you are new here, but lots of people like to buy watches and keep them as new without wearing them. A 7 year old watch that hasn’t been worn is not a rarity.

To me, the case looks unpolished since you can see a dull reflection on both sides of the case and the lugs look sharp. The bracelet looks lightly polished, I can only see it in the clasp. Nice looking watch that I would buy.

Op, I see some clean up , case looks very good, clean.. I think they did some polishing for resale most dealers do this, some will ask you for your preference if the piece shows minimal wear because we all know that you will put marks on it later.

There is nothing wrong with polishing a watch as long as it’s done properly.

Daytona cases are very hard to polish without damaging the paint on the bezel.
So most of the dealer's don’t touch the case.

Great watch! Wear it in good health and enjoy it.

Cheers,

It’s not the melted bar of soap I often see on 5 digits subs. Or the poor polished away crown guards.

Some angles show off the nice sharp edges better than others. Someone one would need a ton more high res photos from many angles to give you every tell but this doesn’t have anything that looks like it’s changed the case shape. Look at some of the “got the call” photos and you can see how perfect looks. Basically there is the faintest of polish showing on the crisp edge of the brushed bracelet. That’s one minor tell. This is totally fine. Go for it.

This is good. I’d buy it.

Yup bracelet showed a bit to me.

Super lightly worn watches might not even need case polishing. Bracelet, especially clasp, is first to show wear. Look there first when you guys are buying stuff.

And again, there’s nothing wrong with light polishing. But what I don’t like is dishonest sellers claiming something is ‘mint’ if it’s actually polished to look mint.

Top edges of the case look a bit soft to me. Nothing to serious.
