Trade and Grey Market
Do grey market prices go up on Datejust between now and December? Thinking of perhaps trading my DJ but doing it in December rather than now. Are grey prices likely to rise in the span of two months?

I would think you can make a better deal now. Demand should tick up for the holiday season and used watch dealers might be less willing to negotiate.

If you can wait until December, tough it out and wait til February.
Traditionally, it’s the slowest retail month of the year (in many markets, I have no data on watches specifically). |

If Rolex has a pricing action then you could see a rise in prices.
Secondary market would likely peg to the new numbers if it came to pass. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Straight up time waster.
Speculating on DJ is ridiculous. Just sell it. Invest in actually rare Rolexes to “hold value” or something else. |

A datejust? Your delta MIGHT be a a few hundred at most. That speculation is a date of time in my opinion

The answer is possibly yes but it all depends on the watch you are trading for and which dealer you are working with. I have seen seasonal ups and downs for years but depending on the watch it variers from not so much to around 1k for PM. I would do some research. Look at the Trusted Sellers and see what they are offering your watch for sell on their site. What ever that figure is then take 30-40% off and you have the wholesale value to them. This will vary slightly but not much. Then look at the watch you want and they will typically take 2-5% off asking. So you have some basic information. I would not deal with the Trusted Seller by email unless you already have a relationship with them. Get on the phone, ask your questions and see what they say. Also, don't be a tire kicker. If you ask for a price and a trade value and they say ok, then be prepared to do the deal or don't ask. Good luck.

The faster you sell the better price you will get.

Seems more supply and demand dependent. If it goes up for the holiday, I believe it will be short lived.
