Which precious metal Rolex holds its value best away from Daytonas?

Hi Team,

Which of the PM watches holds their value best away from Daytonas? See 18K Skydwellers trading down substantially. Do new Day Dates hold their value? Thoughts, please?

I'd say no precious metal models really do. There are a few exceptions, special dials, etc., but generally, precious metal models immediately lose value upon purchase and do not retain.

I believe that since there is no hype, there is not much demand for a used PM Rolex. That's why I think they don't keep the prices, but mainly because anyone who wants one can buy them new relatively easily and quickly compared to the high demand SS models.

I would say its more about dial choice than model. Some rare dials command a premium.

Do any PM models really gain in price? apart from something out of the ordinary.
New model prices at the AD’s would be a good indicator especially if they giving discounts to move them on

Previously? Literally none. Every PM could be had under retail. The delta is just so much between SS and PM for the same watch, just different material. It’s not back to that but trending towards it, DD has been the first to go back below already on a lot of configs.
