I thought the Aquanaut was supposed to be the sporty Nautilus derivative. Why not just make more Aquanaut and Nautilus instead? Nobody asked for this abomination.

Should have been more rectangular and different dial to maybe work

The Cubitus was created to be more of an entry level sport watch from Patek to appease customers who want a sport watch but are struggling to get one. I understand the reasoning but I do not see how it will work, unless they mass produced it like the TwentyFour. Anyway I am excited to see the price point and if it's reasonable I am keen to get one as shown in the picture.

I wasn't going to believe it since the case hinge at 9 and 3 are from the Nautilus and that the crown seems to be very exposed but since owners of the magazine seem to confirm... Also, I wonder how they could slide-in the date's unit disk but I guess it could fit.

I'm very surprised and didn't expect a reboot of the Nautilus in a square shape but, what will new comers think about it or even me after a year I digested it? I don't know but people (especially the ones not as used to seeing the Nautilus everyay as we are) might find it nice in a year from now.

Right now, it looks a little odd for sure, especially for owners (it totally shaped our perspective). Changes in standards from a well know design is often unsettling. Is it subjective and will it look good after a while (and seeing it in the metal)? I think it will...

By the way, it might live next to the Nautilus family or instead of the Nautilus...

I guess a few versions, blue/green, time-only, travel time? Chronograph? And a new caliber?

At least, it is courageous (if successful :p)

One good thing, it will probably bring back into fashion square shaped watches?

PS: I'm sorry for Patek's PR. It seems the delay between the subscribers online version and the paper magazine was tricky this month...

If this is real, it'll be unobtainable as well. I think it doesn't look too bad, actually, but can't understand why the went with the Nautilusesque endlinks.

Wonder if it's a 240 based movement. Really like the date, way more useful than a PR imo. Would love to see the movement in a Calatrava case.

I can almost guarantee they shoehorned a 240 or 330 in there instead of a proper square movement to fit the case shape

The more I look a the Cubitus, the more reminds me of Gerald Charles, Genta’s rather ugly late designs.

Not my cup of tea and I’ve just checked the Watchpro Patek page and even they are panning it, some are convinced it has to be a fake and the real one will be released later.

It makes the Code 11:59 introduction look so much better. But, its a Patek and its going to sell and be unobtainable for me. But, no big deal as I'm not in love with this design maybe, just maybe it may look better up close but I doubt it. The watch looks like others have said a derivative of so many watch designs.

I never thought that PP would have such a bad sense of humor that they would start selling their own fake Nautilus. Cheap Nautilus for the masses? What will be next? A plastic case, a quartz movement?

If you listen closely, you can hear Genta weeping.

It’s crazy to think that this will sell at a crazy premium on the secondary market when there are so many amazing models in the Calatrava, Complications, and Grand Complications lines that sell at a significant discount on the secondary market.

PP Cubitus ad in this month’s Fortune.

I wonder if they’ll offer any cubitius on full ss bracelet. Curious how that will look.

The aquanaut looks at home in rubber, and hideous on bracelet. The Nautilius looks miles better in full bracelet. Maybe the cubitius will look the best on strap, which will be pretty cool for a sports watch. Looks like a sailcloth will be best so it’ll work in the water and be a true sports watch.

Not sure how I like this or not, but if it was in blue and had no complications, just time, then I am a buyer for sure.

Remember this is supposed to be a sports and intro watch, not a $50-100k watch.
