What a great great pickup. That’s such a stunning variation. I love the DD2. For the proportions are just right. I like the thicker more masculine look of it. Awesome. Happy for you!

Thanks! As I am getting older my tastes are altering which brought me to where I think many of us Rolex aficionados go out to pasture - Day Date Quote:
What would you guys do concerning the Platona the dealer proposed? Trade my four Daytona’s for it? Or, keep the neovintage zenith’s and modern ceramic Daytona’s for variety and forget the Platona? As a left field proposal I have another dealer offering a Rose Gold 5980, but for that, in addition to the 4 Daytona’s, I’d need to include probably all the Daytona’s, the AP chrono and the sky dweller…

Day Date 218206 Platinum Incoming
I like the idea of the 5980r.. but you have a 5980 already? Guessing stainless? Why wouldn’t you trade that for the r?
I’m fine w the 4 Daytonas for the platinum bags. You can only wear one so it might as well be that. I don’t know what all you have but if you could end up w the two platinum Rolex, an AP, and the 5980r I think you could be happy. I love consolidating- really need to do it myself. Many times in the past I’ve traded all my watches for one and it’s hard to let go of watches I like but I’ve never regretted it. There’s some other nice Daytonas out there- I have the meteorite rg oysterlex, just thinking since you just got a platinum Rolex maybe something different. You could get a John Mayer and keep one of your others that you like? I wouldn’t trade mine for a platinum.. I get that I’m all over the place here but hey so are you :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes, my 5980 is SS so the Rose would be in addition to it. By the looks of your comments you’re suggesting trading the SS as part way towards the R? Good points, mind. Thanks again for your feedback The meteorite OF Daytona is stunning!

Ya I’d prob upgrade the ss to the 5980r but that’s just me. Would make the trade easier/ less painful. The 5980r is all the way at the top for me- I think I’d focus on that first- maybe your 5980 and some Daytonas. Figure out the platona later. My only hold back on the platona is I also have a plat dd so I don’t feel like I really need it. It would be one or the other for me and I love my dd too much. You and I are similar I think we could be friends- I’ve got it just as bad as you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
