WG/Blue Dial Choice... Daytona vs. GMTII

It's been a good year for business and I'm considering a new piece to celebrate a few milestones.

I'm considering the blue dial Daytona 116509 and the blue dial GMTII 126719. Both speak to me, so I really don't have a preference - hence why I'm coming back to well for everyone's views.

If given the choice, which are you picking and why? Thoughts on how either would wear on a ~6.75" (relatively flat) wrist?

As always, appreciate the feedback and welcome pictures!

I really like/want the blue dial Daytona and was on the list…alas it’s discontinued so have to look grey.

I love my GMT, but for a smaller wrist I think the Daytona is a better fit.

The blue dial is my favorite WG GMT, but I’ve loved the blue Daytona since its release.

For your size wrist, I suspect the Daytona, but as i suspect you would expect you would need to go grey for either take your time and try on maybe.

Both are great pieces - I’m leaning toward the Daytona, as you can get a similar SS BLRO black dial at least.

My other suggestion would be a 116619LB? The blue dial and bezel are amazing! Plus they’re a good price.

I’d get 126509 bright black. When I owned Mayer blue found it kind of underwhelming

Daytona for sure. Especially with a sub 7 inch wrist. As someone that has a very similar size and shape wrist and has owned both watches, I am very confident the Daytona will be more comfortable on your wrist than a WG GMT.

I like both watches, but I like the Daytona measurably more.

From this pair I would go with the GMT. I haven’t ever been fond of the blue dial Daytona it seems to be devoid of heritage. It just seems quirky.

I like the GMT. I just never really cared much for the blue dial Daytona. The GMT looks great however IMO

Love a Blue dial Daytona… But this is the least favorite if I were to list them in order. So in this case, I would go GMT, as I love the blue dial WG GMT

If you would, please say more about that. Asking as I see both the GMT and Daytona models each rich with heritage, but neither of these blue dials “the one” that makes the heritage, if that makes sense.

The Daytona would fit your wrist better at 38.5mm and the blue dial is amazing. If you want a WG BLRO just buy the SS on Jubilee and save 20k and it will wear better. I have owned both.

How would that be a blue dial?

I prefer the GMT, only with the black dial

Tough choice but I think the Daytona feels a little more special. The little splashes of red on the dial are terrific. I love that GMT too but it's so close to the SS version. Can't go wrong with either, but Daytona for me in this battle.

Oh wow I had the exact same dilemma. Here are 3 thoughts:
1. Is date important? If so go GMT
2. Is your wrist on the smaller side? If so go Daytona
3. 116509 is harder to get. So if you plan to eventually get both get Daytona first.

What heritage does a blue dial white gold GMT have?

My vote is for the blue daytona.

Legibility wise the GMT wins by a long way. That would be my choice.
