1600 Jubilee Bracelet repair (extra link?) pics

I have my 1976 Jubilee bracelet at Rolliworks for stretched bracelet repair. They said that when repaired, the bracelet would be shorter, and recommend an extra link be added.
I can't remember what the adjustment was before sending it in but found a couple of old photos. Am I right in that it appears the end is in the center of the clasp, will have enough adjustment to account for the now shortened bracelet?
Although I really don't want to buy and install an extra link, in the end, would that be a worthwhile investment?
Advice appreciated to keep my Grandfather's watch going for another 50 years.

If the bracelet was a bit loose on you, then the tightening from a rebuild may be pretty close and certainly within any adjustment if you have it available. If it fit you snug, then it will definitely be tight and you may not have enough adjustment, especially if you want to stay in the mid-adjustment range.

Adding in an additional link, it seems to me, would be more than the slack taken up unless the bracelet was extremely worn. It can always be taken back out if it doesn't do what they expect.

Why don't you ask Rolliworks that specific question? They are the ones who can tell you how much shorter it will be. We have no idea.

They are easy to remove definitely a pain to put them in but doable if you try for about 20 minutes!!

I did. The answer was, the bracelet was stretched and needs a link to return back to regular length. They didn't know know how the clasp adjustment would affect the length. (It was an odd conversation.)

Then I guess you have your answer. If you add a link, you can wear the bracelet on the same clasp setting as previously. Without the extra link, it will be one link shorter, and you can judge from your last photo, how that will affect the position of the bracelet inside the clasp. Looks like you will need to move over about two holes. Of course, that's probably just an estimate, and if it ends up being shortened by a little more than one link, then you may end up on the last hole. It's your choice.

It appearss that you have 1 and 1/2 of the links in the clasp, really not a lot of room. Based on the amount of stretch seen on the pics, adding one link may not be enough.

If I may ask, do you know how many links the bracelet has? To be a full bracelet, it should have at least 21-22 links. Start from there. Anything less than 22, try to bring it up to the count.

If you have a large wrist, you may have to add more.

I was reading this response aloud to my wife and she just laughed, and asked why I didn't just ask how many links it should have come with in the first place?! (Smart lady)
The bracelet had only 20 links, so that solves the issue! So, adding another one.

BTW, I will be posting photos of the complete watch when the bracelet gets back. Hopefully, the others will make an appearance some day. Until then, awaiting a pickup date for an Explorer II 226570.
