Is having both 16710 and 14060M repetitive?

In love with these two neo-vintage pieces, but am considering whether one of them should be replaced with a modern Rolex piece, like the 126710 or 124060, since they feel a bit repetitive.

What do you guys think?

Absolutely not! These are two classics and are perfect together. If they were mine, I would add a Jubilee to the 16710 and you would have the best of both worlds

These are two of the most coveted watches on the planet. Definite keepers. Add a 114270, and you have a world-class trio of tool watches.

Definitely not. I have both. Very different watches, but the devil is in the details. If you want to simplify your way of looking at it - one is monochromatic and goes with everything; the other is playful with it's bright colors.

I have a 14060M and can't stop thinking about getting a 16710. I don't see them as overlapping at all.

Nope, those are classics. You can add a newer piece to your collection? If you feel the itch for something new.

Cheers,

A true watch enthusiast does not look at watches that way.

A Sub and a GMT do not have anything in common, they are two different watches for two completely different purposes.

The only thing repetitive is that they both show the time, as does any watch.

Repetitive only in the context of owning two watches.

If you want a better clasp get the newer watch. Otherwise no advantage to going newer, besides maybe the maxi dial. Alternatively swap your bracelets to 97200.

RSC will replace crystals now for reasonable fee to get AR coating.

I would have done this had I not gotten a Pepsi from my AD. So, I paired my 14060M with a similar vintage 16570 polar. The turn of the century tool watch look is addictive. Though I love my 6 digits for their more refined aesthetic, I appreciate the allure of the 5 digits, especially in sport watches.

I agree, adding a jubilee to the GMT would go a long way to eliminate overlap. I would definitely keep both.

Go for it! Then get a 16570 polar for the trifecta!

Heck no! Those are two 5 digit icons and serve different purposes. They’re a great two watch collection on their own, so wear them in good health!
