Up for sale is a vintage Omega Seamaster Ploprof 1000m watch, otherwise known as “the Grand”. These watches have historical significance and are rare and very collectable. Have not seen this model for years, and it is said there was only 500 or so were manufactured. The movement is the cal 1002, which was used in the first versions of this watch. The watch was serviced in 2021 by Omega in its Bienne, Switzerland headquarters. The hands and dial were changed out, but the original dial and hands, as well as parts from the service are included in the sale. The case and bezel are original to the watch which was manufactured in the 1970’s. This is not a current parts watch, which can be determined by looking at the bezel and case. The mineral crystal has a few scratches and a small circular defect in it, but this adds to the vintage feel of the watch.
