Caribbean ADs?

Wife and I are taking 25 day Seabourn cruise soon that stops at a lot of Islands with ADs. Was curious if it's worth stopping to see if they have an any new no Date Subs in stock.

My thoughts are maybe they are not as slammed with waitlist as it is here in states. But I could be wrong, maybe they don't have a long wait-list but they still sell everything same day they get because of all the tourist. Thoughts?

Still is tough for typical popular Rolex, PP, etc. Even an Omega Snoopy is not easy. Of course you could get lucky

You might get lucky but it’s probably highly unlikely

Why don’t you call them in advance and tell them know when you are arriving and you would be happy to swoop in there and buy.

1000’s of cruise line passengers arriving daily and serving their local clientele …

Sure they are waiting for you to sell a sought after model.

Their stock won't look any better than here but it's always worth an ask.

Same. I think I have visited literally every Island over the past 4 years and have never seen a Rolex available. Good luck, you never know.

The stock will be just as constrained as your neighborhood AD. But, what I think you may have in your favor is there are not “lists” at the Caribbean tourist dealers. They’re happy to sell through whatever stock they get, when they get it. So really, IMHO, it’s just about the timing and what they have when you go in. Depending on the island, there could be a lot of local residence who get the choice pieces, but you do stand a good chance of getting a nice watch.

Good luck and let us know what you manage to bring home.

Currently on a Princess Caribbean cruise where the watch store is selling two pre-owned Air Kings (not the new one with 05) for $13,100.

The islands are no better then the States side. I go to Aruba every month (have a condo) and have been trying to get my wife a 31mm Date Just with floral motif with diamonds.

The sales person told me as soon as they get one in, I have to show up in person to pay for the watch, will not take wire transfer nor credit card. And I suspect it will be your case even if you call and request a watch in advance.

I love Aruba. El gaucho has the best steak and Barefoot has the best Escargot. Aruba is one of the stops on this cruise so I had planned to eat at one of these restaurants rather than an AD. I especially plan to go eat rather than stop at AD after this post so thanks lol.

I am down in that region quite a few times a year. St Thomas has a few Ads but nothing but long lists. There are lots of grey dealers there with used inventory. Plenty of Sport watches but they are at a serious premium.

Enjoy the cruise.

You never know, may be worth popping in, but I wouldn’t go out of my way
