Has anyone swam or dived with a vintage dive watch?
I was very hesitant on getting a vintage dive watch even though I know they’re very tough and all I have to do is just get it pressure tested and new gaskets to keep it watertight enough I could take it diving without any problems (thanks, paranoia) and reading this https://www.watchesofespionage.com/b...-turtle-reviewarticle from Watches of Espionage where the author said he took a 1980 Seiko Turtle diving without any problems so I’m curious if any of you ever swim/dived with a vintage dive watch.

I guess there will be different schools of thought, but here’s my take.
If I owned a vintage Rolex diver and it was high dollar value, I probably wouldn’t want to dive with it. Even if it’s been tested etc., why risk it? My thinking is that IF something does happen, and you end up with a watch full of water, you’re going to have an expensive repair (assuming you can in even find the period correct dial, parts etc). |

As long as the gaskets are good / tested you should be fine.
